You can tell from the way he strides if he's got it or not...

The only thing I can think (other than f*** umpires) is that he thought he didn't have full control of the ball because it was a bit snoconed, but that was still inexcusably bad.

Okay, and Dickey was 38 (39?) at the time of the deal and only had 1 year guaranteed on his contract. That was too much to pay in that situation. -

I would have been perfectly fine with saying "No thanks" if that was Dickey's demand. I hated that trade from day one, and I'd have loved ANY excuse to get out of it.
