  1. Well, I made my pick before you posted (though, I still didn't see that in your post...) Anyway, Lind hit's 3 home runs today, including a walkoff grand slam for a total of 14 points!
  2. Not going to go through that wall of text point by point, but here's pretty much the easiest thing to refute... Lind's contract was signed in 2010. If you're not going to give JP credit for that, you can't give AA credit for anything, because you have to assume that it's his underlings doing everything for him.
  3. FIRST home run contest. I'm taking a risk with Lind, because it's entirely possible there will have been 3 homers before his first AB.
  4. Trade for Reyes, instant upgrade at SS!
  5. Do we still have Esteban Loaiza kicking around somewhere?
  6. I'll just leave this here: http://cdn.bleacherreport.net/images_root/slides/photos/000/848/862/v2cs63mhao1kv2mfu2ybjr4fp_display_image.gif?1302474633
  7. Be nice to them, most O's fans didn't even realize they had a team until about June last year.
  8. http://rlv.zcache.com/dont_forget_to_bring_a_towel_posters-r09ab4fd3b05645c5b8842eeac8163eb8_gqw_8byvr_512.jpg (And a broom!)
  9. This seems ultra-conservative to me... And "after Monday" makes little sense to me, they're going to fly him to NH for one game, and if they feel he's okay, fly him to Tampa for the next? One game at DH seems like it wouldn't make any actual difference... Unless he's got a move on the horizon that he thinks he needs an extra day for, I suppose.
  10. The best part of that picture is that it TOTALLY looks like Lind is giving a Nazi salute.
  11. I have very little faith in a 38 year old "turning it around" Edit: And even if he does, we overpaid to get him.
  12. I've seen that movie... It was a while ago, but I don't remember being impressed...
  13. That's what happens when you elect some sort of weird snake man as governor...
  14. If he can be traded, I am fine with this. If he gets let go for nothing, I am not fine with it. I HATE losing assets for nothing!
  15. JPR built a team that made the playoffs multiple times during his tenure as GM, as evidenced by the fact that in 2006 (IIRC) the Jays had a better record than the eventual world series winners... AA lost a lot of my respect with the Dickey trade... I'm still willing to give him the benefit of the doubt (and I prefer his drafting strategy to JPRs any day of the week), but he's definitely not "the Ninja" anymore.
  16. The solution? CUT FOOD STAMPS! If poor people wanted to eat, they should have thought of that before they became poor! /aynrand
  17. I will still hold on to my irrational hope that Pierre becomes an MLB player, thank you very much!
  18. That's a pretty fine distinction Ken...
  19. I don't know that I "corrected you" so much as offered a differing opinion with which you now may agree. Neither of us could possibly know Gibbons' actual reasoning. The more I think of it, the more I'm of the mindset that it has to be Loup sent down. Call him into the office and explain to him that it's not a demotion based on his performance, it's just a numbers game and because of his contractual situation, he's the odd man out. He'd likely be the first call up were another reliever needed, so it wouldn't be a long term thing.
  20. I think the biggest question in all of this is "If the Rays move from St. Petersburg, will anyone in St. Petersburg notice?"
  21. I misunderstand you? A beginner figuring out an F chord does NOT make him an expert, no matter how easily he can get his fingers to "do what seems so unnatural" (even though an F chord really isn't that far from a C chord, and most people just bar it anyway which is dirt easy.) I have no idea what this is supposed to mean... Unless you're wishing that all life on earth ended in a scientifically impossible event, sure, why not. Wipe 'em all out and turn the planet into another desolate rock floating through an uncaring universe.
  22. Only one guy (and a bunch of Orioles "fans") suggested headhunting. Most of us (yeah, I'll speak for "most" because, why not?) are suggesting the course of action that would be likely if Bautista gets hit today (I will go so far as to say "thrown at" under the circumstances.) The benches will (and should) clear, hopefully it will be entertaining, but nobody will get hurt, and then Davis will likely get plunked in his next at bat (but NOT in the head.) and the benches will clear again. Hopefully after that, it will be over.
