    Honestly, at this point there's zero justification for not DFAing Zimmer. He's been so much worse than anyone could have expected, and there's almost no chance any team would claim him after this putrid display.

    Despite the absolutely putrid results (and man, have they been putrid), Tapia's expected numbers have actually been quite decent, he's just unable to get anything to fall in at all. He's hitting the ball in the air a lot more this year, and he's hitting the ball hard. xBA: .293 xSLG: .465 xwOBA: .321 He should never, ever bat anywhere near the top of the order though. Good god no, but I'd absolutely take him over Panik any day of the week.

    When Vladdy has to swing at pitches off the plate because umps are routinely calling any pitch that's within 6" of the black a strike against him, I generally cut him (and the rest of the team) some slack.

    Nobody is claiming that RsBI don't exist, just that they tell you literally nothing beyond "someone else did something, or maybe a home run was hit, but we already have a stat for that, it's called home runs". Someone with a lot of RsBI had a lot of other people on his team who did a thing.

    Speaking of, is today roster crunch day? I forget the date, but the Jays should DFA anyone they might not want/need on the roster (and who they're fairly sure aren't top claiming priorities) on that day, as there will be so many players available, and just hope that most of them make it through.
