  1. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you our living case study of The Dunning Kruger Effect.
  2. A spot in the Red Sox rotation is not a promotion, as he's already in the MLB, that's why the comparison of an AAA player to Japan is the one that makes the most sense (but still, not a lot of sense. There's just not a player analog for this situation...)
  3. This is simply not a valid comparison. Seriously man, the only even slightly valid comparison using players would be a guy who is stuck in the minors asking his team to let him sign with a Japanese/Korean team. That happens, but for limited compensation. DD would be getting a promotion, and it's just not cricket to stand in the way of someone getting a promotion.
  4. http://www.troll.me/images/futurama-fry/not-sure-if-trolling-or-just-stupid.jpg It really is tough to tell when the source came from orioles hangout... Lott can go f*** himself. D.J. Davis is the absolute best the O's should hope to get outta this. And frankly, not even that. My vote? Send them Rafael Cova, because he's 32, is on the Fisher Cats roster, and I've never f***ing heard of him.
  5. Also, PHP injection for shits and giggles...
  6. Other than the first line, you're comparing apples to tractors.
  7. It's being talked about by idiots in the media. If Hoffman was actually on the table DD would be picking out office furniture in the Rogers Centre already...
  8. That would be even dumber than Hoffman. Significantly dumber, actually.
  9. a) You know that's not possible. Why are we discussing not only ignoring established precedent for executive compensation, but blowing the existing precedent out of the water? That would be like "well, I know a contract for this type of player is generally in the $50M/4 year range, but I want to offer him $200M/4 instead, for no discernible reason."
  10. He sorta reminds me of Halliday on the mound, at least during his set and windup. That's always a nice memory there!
  11. It would be incredibly dumb, but pretty sure that's well within the rules...
  12. They're (hey, if we're going to do it to the O's... uhhh... people... we should at least be consistent...)
  13. You're from Orioles Hangout, confusion is your natural state of existence...
  14. The Jays Shop will appreciate your business!
  15. Did they have to sound out the big words?
  16. http://cdn0.dailydot.com/uploaded/images/original/2014/7/13/ballpit.jpg
  17. Okay, so slightly more than a middling reliever or a C prospect.
  18. That's some good sleuthing, the first link looks like a good resource...
  19. He's trying to be Baseball Don Cherry. That works for some people, doesn't for others. And I thought he did a tremendous job as a player while with the Jays, for the record.
  20. If this was a genuine question, best rum I've had in ages (and it's actually not expensive for 5 year aged rum at all...): http://www.amathusdrinks.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/R/U/RUFDCB5.jpg
  21. MAN IN WHITE! MAN IN WHITE! LA LA LA LA, I'M NOT LISTENING TO THE LITERALLY EVERYONE WHO CALLED THAT ONE SINGLE ARTICLE A TOTAL CROCK OF s***!!! cf
  22. I wouldn't f*** this deal with YOUR dick.
  23. If this is your idea of a rivalry, sure... http://stream1.gifsoup.com/view6/2237335/zangief-kid-o.gif
