  1. For all the chatter about Adrian Hernandez lately, nobody seems to have mentioned that he throws a SCREWBALL...
  2. June 4 (double points Saturday) Vladdy - 2 Points - Springer - 2 Points - Bichette - 4 Points - Teo - 4 Points - Jansen - 4 Points - Chapman - 6 Points - Kirk - 6 Points - Gurriel Jr - 8 Points - Deadpool Espinal - 10 Points - Biggio - 12 Points - Tapia - 16 Points - Zimmer - 16 Points - Off the bench: 16 Points -
  3. Interesting article on Cimber's ability to get lefties out with his slider
  4. Yeah, I certainly don't expect him to be a 136 wRC+ bat going forward, but I don't think it's out of the realm of possibilities that with the tweaks he seems to have made he could be in the 100-110 range ROS. (Steamer has him at 93 ROS)
  5. Yeah, just had a gander at his fangraphs page, lots of stuff trending in the right direction. He's got one fewer "barrel" this year than he had all of last season, in 1/4 the ABs, best Hard Hit % numbers of his career, his batted ball numbers look excellent (<50% GB rate, which was one of the big complaints when he was acquired). xwOBA is .303, xSLG is .409 Don't worry, people who think they're hilarious when they point out that I said it was possible that the stars could align and he could have a 2-3 WAR season, he's still a negative WAR guy on the season, but it's starting to creep up. Oh, and a .326/.392/.413 slash line, .360 wOBA, and 136 wRC+ over the past 3 weeks. Who the f*** knows if this will continue, but he's on a pretty damn good run.
  6. Pfft, as was pointed out by one of the braingeniuses around here, he's only got a .207 AVG. TOTAL BUST!
  7. So, Florida has apparently vetoed $35M in gov't funding for a Rays spring training facility. I wonder if that's going to make the team pursue Montreal more seriously now... (Not that I'm a fan of government money being given to sports teams, I think that's asinine, but still).
  8. June 3 Vladdy - 1 Point - Springer - 1 Point - Bichette - 2 Points - Deadpool Teo - 2 Points - Jansen - 2 Points - Chapman - 3 Points - Kirk - 3 Points - Gurriel Jr - 4 Points - Espinal - 5 Points - Biggio - 6 Points - Tapia - 8 Points - Zimmer - 8 Points - Off the bench: 8 Points - JFD going for 3 in a row. Also note a few point changes.
  9. IF Biggio had bunted, even successfully, they don't score this inning. Bunting, mathematically, results in FEWER runs than not bunting.
  10. He's at his best as a hitter when he's taking a lot of pitches. When he tries to get swing happy, it's resulted in worse numbers.
  11. 3-1 count for a really hot hitter, Tabby is like "gotta move the runner". How 'bout "gotta drive this guy in!"?
  12. It's a super tacky tattoo. At least Brandon League had his done across his shoulders like he was wearing a jersey...
  13. Chuckles was just aching to make this change. Honestly though, probably the right move here.

  15. June 2 Vladdy - 1 Point - JaysAllMighty, Deadpool Springer - 1 Point - Bichette - 2 Points - LTBF Jansen - 2 Points - Chapman - 3 Points - Teo - 3 Points - Gurriel Jr - 4 Points - Kirk - 4 Points - Espinal - 5 Points - Biggio - 5 Points - Tapia - 7 Points - wilko Zimmer - 7 Points - Bench - 8 points -
  16. After the game last night was the first time I had the "okay, this team is special" feeling. 7 in a row, 9 games over .500 while really not firing close to on all cylinders so far, but some guys are starting to click, and the rest look really close. Really think we'll see this team come alive and start to dominate.
