  1. I feel like Diaz should probably be ahead of Martin and Morales, at least for the time being...
  2. 65 PAs, moving leagues (which means he doesn't really know much about any of the pitchers that he's facing). I'll give him a bit of adjustment time before I worry. And he's a great defender and has speed. He'll be useful, even if he winds up as the 4th OF.
  3. I've seen enough of Travis to know that when he's healthy, he should be MUCH better than this, I'm not overly worried about him. I also think that Grichuk will improve when he's had a bit more exposure to the league, he's always been a decently valuable player, and he's still young.
  4. True, definitely s***** teams. And I guess if you're resigned to him coming up this year, now would work out... Though, Smoak is still rocking a 129 wRC+, and I'm not even sure that Vladdy has played even a single inning at 1st as a professional, so it's not like you need to get him out of there. I'm sure you could find at bats, but does it drastically improve the team at the moment? I'm not sure, and could it hurt his development (particularly on defence)? Maybe. I think the Gurriel move makes more sense at the moment, anyway.
  5. Yeah, that was my point, he's not being blocked by anyone of note, and he's clearly too advanced for the league he's currently in. I doubt he's anything long term, but I'd like to see him challenged.
  6. Between Diaz and Travis getting off days, he should get decent amounts of playing time. Might even be able to cycle him through the OF. He's got experience playing everywhere in Cuba.
  7. We've already got a roster crunch going on, and we're winning ballgames with the current line-up. The only piece that really makes sense to give up on is Morales, and then that would mean that Vladdy switching between 3rd and DH with Dondaldson and Pearce (DH only, obviously). I just don't see a situation where the best move is bringing him up, rather than developing him. Now, if Donaldson is out for a long time, AND another injury happens where he'd be playing 4/5 or more games, then sure, but I don't see the rush with our current roster. We don't have an obvious position of need at the moment (yes, there are positions that could be improved, but Diaz/Solarte/Gurriel/Travis is a solid enough left side of the infield until Donaldson is back that I don't see the need to rush him.)
  8. What is with everyone trying to burn Vladdy's service time? Christ, just brutal asset management if you bring him up now.
  9. How long before they move Clemens up a level? He seems ready (#scoutingthenumbers)
  10. I'm excited to see what he can do, would be hard not to be an upgrade over Ngope at this point.
  11. Because Chapman was warming, but wasn't going to be ready in time, and probably would have been for Grichuk.
  12. How the f*** do you swing at that motherf***er?
  13. Well, this is an interesting development...
  14. Hockey only exists between the end of the World Series and the start of Spring Training.
  15. The what game? I have no idea what you're talking about.
  16. I picked Pillar, in the assumption that we're talking right now, and not counting future value. I would also have picked Alford if it was the full 40 man.
  17. Teoscar is probably about an Alex Rios type... Good, maybe a few years where he's all-star quality, but not a guy who is a "superstar". I'll take that in exchange for 2 months of Francisco Liriano.
  18. What's gross about rum? I know you're a beer guy, but rum is great!
  19. I would love it if this is a legit change going forward. I've loved what I've seen from him this year (who hasn't?) but I need to see this over a larger sample size.
  20. That was a great 2 days of baseball.
  21. 96 from the left side ain't bad at all.
  22. Yeah, he's a CF originally. So is Grichuk.
  23. "My favourite movie of all time is The Social Network" What the everloving f***?
