I mean, it's no Gurababip - the clear gold standard for clever nicknames - but you go to war with the nicknames you have, not the nicknames you wish you had...
Teo's D hasn't been a problem this year, he's slightly above neutral numbers wise (UZR of 2.0, DRS of 2) and has made some really excellent throws. SSS obviously, but hopefully he's worked to improve on that. An average LF defender with his bat is a useful piece (obviously I'm assuming his bat will regress towards his numbers from last year...)
Nice inning from Vladdy on D. Solid fundamentals, made the play on a ground, looked the runner back at third, solid throw. Then calling off the pitcher and taking charge, that's his ball so it's good that he wasn't timid about calling for it.
The way I personally see it is that Teo has more upside but a lower floor than DSJ. I think DSJ is about what he'll ever be, and I have hopes the Teo can still improve. I'm fine with the moves that were made w/r/t the OF in the spring.
Quick glance at the numbers, Eloy has 3 balls with EVs over 110, and nothing higher than 111 all year. All 3 were fair, and all 3 were hits (one a homer). Vladdy's had 9 balls with EVs over 110 and he's seen 94 fewer pitches.
This link has every pitch that Vladdy has faced all year. You will have to edit the date manually if you want to see future games as well
