    Vetrins who are good and can bring something to the team are phenomenal to have around. Vetrins who post a wRC+ of 75 with declining defensive value are not. Vetrin Presents is a board meme about the latter type of player. Nobody, anywhere, is saying "ONLY YOUNG PEOPLE WITHOUT EXPERIENCE SHALL PLAY!"

    It's dumb, and should be stopped before anyone even considers it... I mean, if we just get to have Vladdy be our guy every day, then it's an obvious advantage to the Jays, but it's a horrid idea. Also, who is the pitcher? 'cause like, if it's your BP pitcher or something, you're literally competing against your own team...

    But I think the benefit of trying to develop Bo into a decent SS outweighs trying to win it all this year.

    There are myriad reasons to field a competitive team when you don't expect to win it all... And I simply meant they didn't build this to be the PEAK team, this is moving towards the PEAK team.

    Hrmm... just looked it up... The rule is dumb and far too vague, apparently... "most effective reliever" is a bizarre judgement call.. I mean, Dolis got 4 outs on 6 pitches, why doesn't he get the W?

    Mayza was the pitcher of record when the Jays took the lead, and he wasn't the starter, so it's not up to the official scorer to make a call, that's just how wins are determined.

    I won't be angry if it happens or anything, I just don't think they built the team to win it all this year specifically... Getting Bo enough reps to be a decent-to-great SS is probably part of the plan to work towards that title in the next few seasons.

    He definitely has not "totally outplayed" Jansen. They've both been garbage at the plate, but Jansen is the best defensive catcher in the AL, and Kirk is... probably okay.

    Gurriel LOOKS like he should be a burner that steals bases, but he has 11 career SBs (and 7 CS)... Also, we're Royalsing them!
