Made the expanded playoffs. Made a decision to not spend on pitching when it was the obvious need... They were probably thinking "maybe the wildcard", but they weren't planning a parade.

I can't recall anyone being banned for insults as tame as "you're a f***ing moron". I certainly haven't banned anyone for anything like that...

I don't believe anyone from the Jays FO said this was supposed to be a playoff year. I always got the impression that this was sort of a "bring everything together" kinda year and next year would be the start of the push... I mean, nobody realistically saw Vladdy going from slightly-above-average (below expectations) to "BEST f***ING PLAYER IN BASEBALL HOLY s***!", most assumed he'd approach this level, but that it would happen gradually.

Several years ago, I saw a mini-doc about the mud they use. It's all harvested by one guy from one "secret spot" that he won't reveal to anyone outside of his family. It's quirky and weird as f***. Gets all of it for the whole season at one time, and ships it to every team. (Obviously my memory is imperfect, but that's the gist of it.)
