Ya and he got less then the Q.O i believe. So a lesson that other 3-5 rotation guys should learn from. I think if Dickey is offered 15M he takes it without batting an eye
When he first said it i thought that was tampering. Then thinking about it i thought i didn't matter since he was a player and not an office personnel. I don't know what the rule is technically so i don't know.
If you can get him extended to 9-10M then you defiantly do that. A guy that gives you around a 4.00 ERA and 200 innings is likely going to cost you more on the open market and that is even if they want to sign in Toronto. Is he ugly to watch yes but he provides a lot of value in that 4-5 spot in the rotation.
A qualifying offer is not going to be declined and paying Dickey 15-16M a year is going to be too much for him. So in my eyes you offer him 10 if he turns it down then you let him hit the market.
First thing i thought was that i felt terrible for the other 3. No matter what they do (fire him, and single him out) their reputation is going to be f***ed going further. Your career takes a huge shot because one jackass goes off kilter.
I don't know i am guessing they will both get time there and i am guessing Bichette does not stick their long. 2nd or 3rd maybe his new home in the future.
I always thought he would be a great backup because he was a good defensive catcher, but with all the injuries i don't know what he would be like now defensively. I can't see him hitting much in the majors.
