Yeah. Pitchers often get hurt. It is like when Washington kept Strasburg out of the playoffs, then he still got hurt next year. Teams might as well use their pitchers while they have them and while they are healthy. I dont believe there are any numbers that clearly show one way or another but Id be shocked if Sanchez going to the bullpen the rest of the year reduces his chance of getting injured by any more than 5%.
MLB pitchers are getting injured more often than ever these days, this thinking isnt working. Let Sanchez start unless he becomes absolutely gassed. If he gets injured in the coming years we can live with it, he likely will anyway.
Does slow the game down though. I really don't care about managers playing the matchups and stuff. It is dumb reasoning that they are too good, but I wouldn't hate the idea of only one pitching change per inning.
Yeah but BBDL didn't have Mendez , Paddack, Guzman and Jacobs taken in our first 6 picks. Is it too soon for me to trash the other leagues yet? What kind of drafting is that?
Rowdy Tellez could probably do about the same offensively as early as next year. He'd probably be a downgrade defensively from what I've heard, but still...
Sounds like something people may have said about Vernon Wells at one point. Does people's speed decrease slower if they aren't super fast to begin with?
Based on not much besides his numbers, I think Montero is the exact type of hitter that could really benefit from being around Jose and Edwin for a half a season before they peace out.
That's great news! Thank you AA for giving us this here in Canada. Sorry he had to go, but at least Shapiro isn't as bad as some of the other names rumored to replace him. 12 years from now we will see another wave of great Canadian ballplayers.
It is fantasy baseball. Call him up and try and make the playoffs. You'll lose your last keeper because of it, who will probably not be anything too special anyway.
