  1. Heisey not on the 40. Also I'm no sure about Heisey's CF defense (and no I don't love Zeke's but he has the speed if not the smarts).
  2. Seems kind of weird/innefective to wait after the Dickey start to call up Thole.
  3. Really surprised they didn't go with a one day callup of Thole. Seems like giving him a start and using Martin as pinch hitter for the first game and then calling Hague up for the second one would have been more effective.
  4. So either Zeke or Revere plays CF if Pillar is given a day off? http://pictures.mastermarf.com/blog/2008/081014-face.jpg
  5. Seems like a potentially smart play would be to call-up Thole, have him catch Dickey tomorrow and then demote him for Pompey. Give Martin some needed time off and then give some to Pillar. When September comes around Thole can come back and be R.A.'s caddy again.
  6. There's a big gap between Donaldson and Valencia for sure but I'd say the gap between Valencia and whoever would get the job now is pretty sizeable as well. I'd really feel much better about the chances of the Jays weathering a Donaldson injury with Valencia in the fold.
  7. Didn't realize Thole was hurt. Can't give Martin all that time off unless someone is available to catch Dickey.
  8. Meh. It's two weeks before September callups anyways. No big deal.
  9. Is it a coincidence this happens before a Dickey start? I figure the corresponding move is Thole getting called up.
  10. You only have to DFA someone if they are out of MiLB options as was the case with Valencia. Loup has options.
  11. Yeah I don't really want to debate the ethics of slut shaming with you. I think it's wrong fwiw but I really can't see the scenario repeating itself so it's a moot point as far as your mod qualifications go.
  12. Yeah but I think we can all agree that it wasn't cool even if she did.
  13. It was on the old board and they guy is A+ poster now who knows he made a mistake. I made an oblique reference to it earlier but I really think this should be left in the past. He would make a great mod.
  14. If the biggest need is someone to moderate the GDTs than I'm probably not a good choice. I barely participate in those. OrgFiller, Deadpool and Vdub (amongst others) all seem to be much more present in those and would make excellent mods.
  15. I like the Deadpool suggestion. He's on here a lot. He's "cleaned up" his act since leaving the old board.
  16. Yeah I don't think it's going to happen.
  17. The idea (not necessarily a good idea but whatever) is to move him to 2B.
  18. Would be weird to play against him but nice to be on the receiving end of the outs he gives away.
  19. The team could carry 5 outfielders if it carried fewer DHs and 1Bs.
  20. A lot of fans can trace their fandom back to a playoff run. For many it was 92-93. For older guys like me it was 1985.
  21. Well I don't really want Kenny Williams anyways so it's kind of a moot point. The White Sox like him and they can have him. Poaching a president is stupid. Surely the Jays can find a guy without resorting to that.
  22. Isn't that still far away?
  23. Another option might be to not offer arb to Revere and spend his salary somewhere else. Some sort of Pompey/Pillar/Saunders time share could work out well if Saunders is actually healthy and productive.
