Typically that degree of sprain involves stretching of/mild damage to a ligament but it’s still holding the joint relatively stable. Rob Longley @longleysunsport #Bluejays staff in D.C. feel the injury to Springer is "week to week." Considered less severe than the one which sidelined Bichette four weeks last year. Team will monitor healing process and proceed accordingly.

    Arden Zwelling @ArdenZwelling Nate Pearson is scheduled to start for the triple-A Buffalo Bisons today — his first appearance in an affiliated game since June 16. Will be a brief outing as Pearson works toward joining Blue Jays bullpen for stretch run. He's been sitting high-90's in sim games. Arden Zwelling @ArdenZwelling Cavan Biggio (back/neck) is also in Bisons lineup today, batting third as a DH. Biggio's gone 0-for-4 with three walks and a HBP through the first two games of his rehab assignment. He played 9 innings at third base Friday night. Ben Wagner @benwag247 Nate Pearson will throw just 20-25 pitches in his Triple-A outing today. Commanding pitches and the zone is equally as important as the pitch count.
