  1. Jamie Campbell @SNETCampbell Several #BlueJays have confirmed that they’ll be arriving at the Player Development Complex first thing tomorrow morning. No sense in wasting time.
  2. Duke Castiglione @DukeCastiglione Veteran @mlb player tells me and an MLB Official confirms. … unvaccinated players can’t play in Canada and under new CBA they will not be paid or receive service time for those games missed in Canada #wcvb
  3. JJ Cooper @jjcoop36 Btw, I have talked to front office officials who were seriously considering just sleeping in the office during this initial crazy transactional rush just to save time. It's going to be wild.
  4. Jayson Stark @jaysonst Some details emerging on how the expanded playoffs will work: * No more Game 163 tiebreakers. All playoff spots will be determined through NFL-type tiebreaker formulas. * No re-seeding for the LDS. 1st seed plays winner of 4 vs. 5 Wild Card Series. 2nd seed plays 3 vs 6 winner. Jayson Stark @jaysonst Those tiebreaker games have to bite the dust to make sure the Wild Card Series can start two days after the end of the regular season. That's especially true in this postseason, which has to fit into a tighter window so World Series dates don't have to be moved.
  5. Susan Slusser @susanslusser I'm told the proposed rule changes (pitch clock, no shifts etx) aren't going into effect until next year, and that's not necessarily a given.
  6. Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal As part of CBA, minor adjustment in revenue sharing, source tells @TheAthletic: MLB will use some of luxury-tax proceeds to reward teams that grow local revenues (that is gist; more complicated than that).
  7. Alden González @Alden_Gonzalez In the new CBA ... * 12-team playoffs * Universal DH * option limits * draft lottery * 45-day notice for rule changes * full year of service time for top rookies * international draft (potentially) * no more qualifying offers (potentially) * jersey/helmet advertising Alden González @Alden_Gonzalez * minimums from $700K to $780K * luxury-tax thresholds from $230M to $244M * $50M bonus pool March 13 reporting date, April 7 Opening Day, free agency in like a few hours. Alden González @Alden_Gonzalez News story here from @JeffPassan ... https://t.co/JCEW72iGvt
  8. Bob Nightengale @BNightengale Mandatory reporting date for players is in 3 days.
  9. Andy Martino @martinonyc Sources: Owners call to ratify CBA is scheduled for 6pm. Free agency will begin immediate after. Holy crap, buckle up
  10. Jon Heyman @JonHeyman Union executive board vote was 8-0 against the MLB proposal but teams voted 26-4 in favor of it, carrying the day, Unusual that the general player population goes so far against player leadership.
  11. Nick Ashbourne @NickAshbourne The last time Toronto fans got to see a complete season of Blue Jays baseball live, the team's IP leaders were (in order): Trent Thornton, Marcus Stroman, Aaron Sanchez, Sam Gaviglio and Jacob Waguespack. Glad they weren't denied yet again. They deserve the this new era in full.
  12. Ben Wagner @benwag247 Talking with sources in Dunedin this month, internal discussions haven’t missed a beat on FA/trades - the #BlueJays know exactly where they want to go, at full throttle. Get ready for a wild four weeks. Massive expectations at this place right here
  13. Ben Nicholson-Smith @bnicholsonsmith Top free agents include... Carlos Correa Freddie Freeman Trevor Story Kris Bryant Nick Castellanos Kyle Schwarber Carlos Rodon Michael Conforto
  14. Mike Wilner @Wilnerness So Opening Day will be April 7, the 45th anniversary of #Bluejays first-ever game. That’s nice.
  15. Joel Sherman @Joelsherman1 Now comes baseball’s version of running of bulls. Simultatenously: camps open, 300 free agents still looking for jobs, 150-ish arbitration cases, Rule 5 Draft, updating all rehabbing players not allowed to talk to teams, getting foreign players visas and into country.
  16. Max Scherzer (Boras Corporation) Francisco Lindor (SportsMeter) Marcus Semien (Boras Corporation) Andrew Miller (Frontline) Gerrit Cole (Boras Corporation) Zach Britton (Boras Corporation) Jason Castro (ISE Baseball) James Paxton (Boras Corporation) Five of the eight are Boras clients.
  17. Jeff Passan @JeffPassan Players can report to spring-training camps as early as tomorrow. Opening Day is expected to be April 7, as @JesseRogersESPN first reported. Transactions unfreeze upon ratification, which is expected to come as early as today, meaning free agents can sign and trades can occur.
  18. Evan Drellich @EvanDrellich BREAKING: Players have accepted the owners proposal, and the start of spring training is imminent, sources tell @TheAthletic. Major League Baseball is back. Evan Drellich @EvanDrellich The players’ board vote to accept a deal was 26-12, sources tell me and @Ken_Rosenthal.
  19. Jeff Passan @JeffPassan BREAKING: Major League Baseball and the MLB Players Association have reached a tentative agreement on a new labor deal, sources tell ESPN. While it still needs to be ratified by both parties, that is expected to be a formality, and when it is: Baseball is back. Jeff Passan @JeffPassan And so am I. Jeff Passan @JeffPassan also got some sweet nfts if anyones interested
  20. Jon Heyman @JonHeyman Team votes are coming on now (delivered by player reps) and so far they are in favor. So far players are going against the executive council.
  21. Jon Heyman @JonHeyman Union executive board appears to be voting against approval. Uncertain how this could affect full player vote.
  22. Jon Heyman @JonHeyman Word is there are a couple Mets players concerned about the CBT, and one or two are arguing against accepting the MLB offer. Mets look destined to pay the biggest tax, and it’s possible they are concerned fourth tier relax could inhibit spending.
  23. Jesse Rogers @JesseRogersESPN Make up doubleheaders to get 162 in would be 9 innings.
  24. Jon Heyman @JonHeyman MLB proposed spring games to begin on or about March 17 and regular season Opening Day to be on or about April 5
