Why should he? In his mind he's the perfect catcher.

I could care less if he can hit the ball far. As long as he controls the strike zone, can hit for decent contact, and plays better than average defense I'd be all for giving him the job. We have a catcher right now that all he has is home run power, and pretty much everyone wants to get rid of him.

I'd guess it's because Bautista came out of nowhere, where as Davis was a fairly highly touted prospect (just like someone above said). So when Bautista figured it out it seemed more likely that he had to have had help because he came out of nowhere.

Haaaaaaa. I'm gay and I can tell you I think my "behaviour" should be promoted. I want to work hard, earn money, meet a decent guy who I love and who will love me, settle down, start a family, and be an accepted part of the community. That doesn't really sound "liberal," it sounds pretty much like the 1950s to me. Someone should write in the Sheldon Coopers Fun with Flags to see if flags influence people. It would be interesting to find out. -
True. However I wouldn't be as upset if it was an 8 or 9 pitch strikeout compared to lets say a 3 pitch swing-and-miss-a-thon that JPA tends to go for.

I'd be interested in seeing the average number of pitches per at bat for our hitters. I'd imagine Kawasaki would probably be one of the top few players on that. It's refreshing to see him not just try to bash the first pitch.

If this were to happen I would want the Jays to call a press conference so he can pull out his phrase book again to thank Toronto for giving him an opportunity to succeed.

If he climbs mountains and then pitches how he did last year I'd be okay with it.

I probably didn't explain myself well enough. What I'm saying is that if AA and his scouts didn't view any of the hitters this year as impact players at the major league level in the future, he may be willing to draft pitcher heavy this draft and collect his more valuable assets (at least in his mind) and completely disregard hitters until later in the draft and fill up the rosters with org guys.

The only thing I can think of is AA and his scouts didn't think any of the hitters this year would amount to anything and he's trying to acquire all the trade able assets he can by drafting all these high upside pitchers.

Blue Jays will be announcing open try outs for all positions for our SS teams. Pull the gloves out of storage everybody!

We will now only be staffing pitchers on our low minor teams. When not pitching they will all play various positions to maximize their value in trades for older, high upside change of scenery position players.

Hopefully a declaration of RR saying that he will now pitch well instead of like a gas can will make everything all better.

If I was a Miami-Dade tax payer I'd make a home out of that hilarious statue out in the outfield. At least than I could say that I was paying my taxes and getting something out of it. -
