  1. Shatkins can't sell for team culture and optical reasons, so they're going to do these types of deals pretending to upgrade and make moves.
  2. This is our year to go all in. Make it happen Shatkins. We're just a piece or two away.
  3. Like always, it is about asset management. If you trade Semian and Ray, you finish this season with fewer wins, but more assets which you can use to get wins next year (or subsequent years). The only reason to keep those guys at this point is that you think the comp picks are as good (or close) as the return you would get at the deadline. I think teams would pony up very compelling assets to get Semian or Ray at the deadline. This team isn't going on some magical run to the WS this year, it just isn't.
  4. yup. they won't though. The new Home campaign, and an impatient fanbase will get them to sell some prospects for an outside shot at a WC and a first round loss.
  5. Team is too good to be sellers, and not good enough to be buyers. I hope they do nothing.
  6. Stripling barely hits the radar as one of our major problems.
  7. I haven't spent much time over the years paying much attention to the minor leagues, outside of a small handful of top end prospects. That changed with Shapiro turning the Jays into an organization, not just an MLB team. So what is the strategy going forward? It seems that teams either use their development organizations to bolster their MLB roster (most), or they use their MLB roster to bolster their minor league system, and promote (Rays). Maybe the Yankees or something are in the middle. For the first time in forever, it seems we have high end minor leaguers getting blocked. I love it.
  8. What's it going to take to re-sign him.
  9. So... What can we get for Semian at the deadline?
  10. IS Gurriel on the spectrum? Some kinda of autistic?
  11. has Springer always been a delicate flower, or is this a new thing?
  12. Young team, not yet in their contention window. This is how you learn to be a winner.
  13. "Her body, her choice"... every pro-choice advocate out there "don't judge people for their preferences in the bedroom"... every corporation during pride month "permanent scarring is fine if someone asks for it"....every tattoo artist Either you think that people should have significant leeway when it comes to matters of autonomy over their own body....or you do not.
  14. hadn't even thought of that. Will be interesting to see SR on Ryu after this game.
  15. If I didn't have epilepsy before watching games in this park, I do now.
  16. They kinda are.
  17. the crowd goes quiet when Vlad comes to the plate now, lol
