  1. I thought Jays never tweaked swings of new players; guess Martinez wanted to do try something with Varsho this year.
  2. He had more than a double <3
  3. Varsho, do you have another one of those doubles in the tank bud?
  4. The Jays bats might fail but Red Sox defense never fails.
  5. Vlad fly out or 110+ mph single. Nothing in between.
  6. Won't matter if the top of the lineup can't square up pitches.
  7. Can we get a clean 1st inning, this is stressful!
  8. Vlad is getting under these pitches.
  9. if Pearson goes down again when Cimber comes back.... gr.
  10. Mariners are not a basement team on paper but they have been pretty bad this season and then injury ridden offense during the game. I am not concerned of that loss, Raleigh just has our number, and our B-team bullpen just didn't have it. And after the streak we put up, it is what it is. The games that are aggravating losses, this season for me, were the Yankees game, one of the Astros game and last night's game - where we had all the pieces going, but we gave it away. Also, the ump last night didn't help. As for Sox being better than they are, Rays swept them in a 4-game series, Orioles took 2 of 3. We can compare teams instead of overall standings to gauge our record. Let's hope we take 3 out of 4, cause 2-2 would put us behind Rays and Os in terms of win% against Sox.
  11. I still don't know if they have the luxury of losing Chapman tbh. Barger/Orelvis aren't even remotely close to the defensive capability of Chapman and possibly even with his production if everything is clicking their 1st year (big if). They signed Bo for 3 yrs and I think we let Bo walk after. You have to sign Vlad no matter what, and preferably Chap at least to 2027 (to coincide with Gausman and Springer's contracts).
  12. Again, there is precedent. Last year, on May 2nd - we were 15 - 9 (.625), this year 18 - 11 (.620). Yankees were 17 - 6 (.739) while Rays are, well 23 - 6 (.793) We need to win these games, can't be throwing away games against basement teams. When Braves roll around, we need to be able to have enough breadth that if we were to get out of that series with only 1 win (or no win), we can still be within striking distance. Can't be treating this as 'just another game', when one team is on a historic streak and the other team is winning with a fraction of our payroll and has a farm system that can get a trade done for some major pieces at deadline, and hell, we had more agency against AL East last year than we have this year. As for SoS, Os have the hardest sure and Rays are 3rd (for the rest of the season) but the Jays are like 5th or 6th. We don't have it that much easier considering we faced KC/Tigers/Chi Sox already. I don't want another Wildcard banner hanging next year. Take the f***ing AL East.
  13. We have to take all 3 of the remaining games. Of all the teams we are facing in May, Sox and Yankees are the weakest. We need to take as many from them as possible.
  14. At this point, I am scared of what this lineup is going to do against Manoah, they have so many slugging leftys.
  15. We said that last year about Yankees too. At the end, even when they regressed, we could not catch up.
  16. No one asks the right questions and that is just as annoying.
  17. Rays/Os not losing these kinds of games! (Well Rays lost one like this) They are consistently destroying teams if they give them chances. We are playing keep-up and we have the hardest schedule in May.
  18. Schneider will give us the "sometimes it just happens".
  19. Doesn't call it for Nate, calls it for Wincowski.
