    Those are some nasty pitches tbh. He's painting well. The few mistakes he made, we just whiffed. Shrugs.

    Okay genuine question, what is the game plan here - they are whiffing/not swinging at fastballs in the zone, overswinging at curves, and chasing cutters. No good contact except that one flyout by Vlad in the 1st inning on a high fastball.

    Excellent FO, great Bullpen, decent young core in mountcastle/hays/rutsch and seemingly, starting pitching that has found its groove in the second half.

    Dude, I can't with Chapman watching strike 3s just floating down middle middle.

    Whatever he did this year has been interesting - stance/mechanics wise April was abysmal but May to now has been some elite OBP #s with a below league average K rate (by ~2%). Lost a lot of power to become a better contact hitter and I don't know if it can be called a streak if it has lasted for 3.5 months. Might be worth if we can get him cheap. Not like we have anyone in the minors who can make a serious impact at that position unless they are actually committed to Horwitz.

    Gotta lock up Vlad this offseason. Better to do it this year than wait for another MVP breakout. If a 4-5 WAR season is his 'down year', and the only thing he needs to fix is not pulling outside pitches into groundballs, then f*** it. Lock him up. Teo might become too expensive but I wonder if LGJ would take a team-friendly extension until 2026.

    Man its unreal how clutch EE was during those two years.

    Like that, why hasn't that been addressed/fixed for Chapman? That is just awful decision making watching strike 3 go down the pipe. I understand he Ks a lot but the f*** is watching strike 3 go by? Any of the three hitting coaches wanna step in and go "Hey bud, you gotta protect" or like get a mosquito league coach to step in and reiterate "you gotta go down swinging".

    The only consistent thing for this team, this entire season, has been bad decision making. Whether its approach at plate during key situations or baserunning or defensive cues, its just bad decisions. When we are in a slump, they get magnified and some (just like during the 9 game west coast stretch before ASB). I haven't paid as much attention to it last year and not sure if was the same situation, just glossed over the fact that four players were having career years.

    Its just not smart baseball. Chapman comes in with bases loaded, 1 out ... all you have to look for is one pitch to drive into the air. He got two straight ones that he just watched. He then elects to go after the outside pitch and pull it. That's just dumb af. Not sure what else to say.
