I think whats getting lost in all this is the best part about winning is the suffering we have all endured. I don't post on here as much as others, but I follow just as closely, and always have. I'm the type of fan who turns the scores off MLB.TV so I can watch the games from the start when I can't watch them live.
Anyways my point is, a lot of us diehards have been through so much suffering. We've watched great players come and go on s***** teams, we've watched games on weeknights nights with 12,000 people in attendance, and we've spent hours on sites like this and fan graphs, year after year just because of pure enjoyment in the sport and the team. To go through all of that makes a time like this that much more exciting. Its a feeling the bandwagon fans will never have. You can check scores from time to time and the standings every couple weeks and not give a rats ass, and then find it exciting one year when they start to win and all of a sudden claim to be fan of the year. But if you weren't around for the tough times, if you haven't been through the pain and suffering, you really don't know how awesome this is right now, and you never will
