  1. Lincoln it is...I think Happ may be called up for Wagner or Perez soon though. @TSNScottyMac: #BlueJays option RHP Todd Redmond to Buffalo. Recall RHP Brad Lincoln from Buffalo. #MLB
  2. Problem here was Gibbons using Cecil far too soon. He should have used Perez in the 6th or Loup. Then because he was handcuffed..he had to turn to Oliver in the 8th for some reason. With an OPP BA against lefties over .340, there's no way Oliver should ever of been out there to pitch to Gonzo, Ethier etc. Gibbons isn't putting his players in a situation to succeed and it boggles my mind how he still keeps a job.
  3. My best guess is Steve Delabar...haven't seen the guy in four days.
  4. Jays right now have the wrong approach at the plate. Too many of them are sitting on fastball...If I'm going against Hellickson, I'm sitting on change-up until strike 2. His fastball is garbage, so you sit on the stuff he uses the most often. That's his change-up. Whats happening is the Jays are out front of many pitches, pulling them and fouling them off. Or when they sit on change-up, they swing at fastball and flyout opposite field...see Cabrera. Sit on a pitch, speed and location and they will hit Hellickson. I just don't get why you sit fastball against a guy whose bread and butter is a soft change-up.
  5. I like the thought of Jake Peavy actually. The White Sox might want a quality starter prospect and a decent bat...I was thinking of Drabek+Bonifacio+Sierra or Drabek+Bonifacio+Carreno for Peavy. Peavy would give us yet another starter but also gives us insurance in case Josh Johnson bolts. With him out until the AllStar break, the addition of Peavy to the pitching staff would be huge for the second half of the year. Like they say, you win with quality pitching and defence, not power hitting.
  6. Drabek 2.1 IP 5 Hits 2 ER 2 K 0 BB 1 HR (Solo Shot) Pretty decent start overall for the first start in over a year. The hitters hit the ball, but the fact he threw strikes and didn't walk a batter is encouraging.
  7. In my mind, Brett Lawrie is still going to be a top five AL third baseman when all is said and done. The problem I'm seeing with Brett is simple. It's timing. He missed nearly all the training camp and didn't really get started untl nearly May. The pitchers were rounding into form and Brett was still getting used to the game. Also, his stance at the plate really needs to be toned down. He almost looks as if he's rocking back and forth in the box and constantly tapping his front foot. My thoughts are if he calms himself down in the box, and just works on one timing mechanism instead of 100, he'll get back to where he was at pre-injuries. Right now though, his stance is a complete mess.
  8. Santos' problem is he may be throwing too hard. With not a lot of experience as a pitcher, I still feel his "form" and "technique" could still use some work so he doesn't injure himself more and more. Glad to see Hutch making lots of progress. Drabek I feel could be a great pitcher if he gets fastball command...that's a big IF though. McGowan...I'm not so hopeful about.
