  1. Good god. Reyes is not garbage. Defensively he's not the greatest, but he's the teams' sparkplug and I'll be honest with you...I can live with a few errors and him trying to stretch singles into doubles and being called out a few times. I don't care, I appreciate a guy willing to give a s***. It was a close play and the Jays need to put pressure on other teams' defenses once in awhile. Edwin is struggling basically because he's trying to pull everything. When he's going right, he's hitting the ball all over the place with power. Get back to looking up the middle and to right field, you'll see the numbers go up. May a move to the 2 hole might work so he can see more fastballs with Jose and Donaldson behind him. The thread should be titled...John Gibbons, when is this guy going to be fired? How many more one-run games will this team lose as a direct result of bad managerial decisions such as not running to stay out of double plays, not bunting enough, not stealing enough bases, bad times to pinch hit..bad pitching changes. Bad decisions on the mound such as a 3-1 count on Mauer...runner on 3rd 1 out...and you pitch to him? Put him on, pitch to Plouffe and get a ground ball to get out of the inning. Nope...Mauer slaps the ball through and the Twins end of tying the game shortly after. The Jays are now like what 3-12 in one-run games? Its these decisions that kill the Jays year after year.
  2. Once Walker gets his hands on him, all bets are off.
  3. I would've loved to have brought back Morrow. Either as the 5th starter, or possibly the closer. Essentially swap Sanchez to the pen for him. Love seeing him hit the gun at 97. I think he'll get his s*** together down in the NL West.
  4. wow...you were waiting by the keyboard for my response. Good times...27000 posts in 20 months...even worse. Both of you could use some sun and maybe a girlfriend. I'm out...you two need f***ing lives.
  5. Did I offend you GD..I'm sure King can fight his own battles without his sig partner fighting his battles for him. 20000 posts in 20 months...get a life fat ass.
  6. Yeah ok there with the Matt Smoral as a bust lmfao. Kid is 6'8" and just coming into his own. If it wasn't for the walks, he would've almost been unhittable last year after coming off a year where he had a 7.0+ ERA. Nobody talks about him...not even ranked in the teams top 15 according to mlb.com I dont know if he'll be a top shelf starter due to a lack of an above average third pitch, but he could make for a very good reliever in the Andrew Miller mold. and you want to talk s*** about my picks...I can talk just as much with yours you joke.
  7. New Legit Guys Hoffman, Castro, Pentecost Sleepers Cole, Smoral, Boyd Busts Davis, Cardona, and Anderson
  8. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2293902-miguel-montero-trade-rumors-latest-buzz-and-speculation-surrounding-catcher It might not come as a surprise that the DBacks are close to trading Miguel Montero, however, trading Montero will likely mean they are short at catcher. The expected return of the deal is rumored to be pitching prospects, so no real catching option will be acquired according to reports. That leaves Dioner Navarro as one of the best catchers available on the trade market. I have heard that Aaron Hill could be available, with Owings and Pennington manning the middle infield for the DBacks...Hill could be a real option for the Jays. Thoughts on Navarro to the Backs and what the possible return could be? *There you go Sammy225
  9. Yeah those were my thoughts too. You can only blame the home ball park so much for power numbers...but fact is...those numbers will get you out regardless of where you play. Target Field, Yankee Stadium...the moon.
  10. Not really liking this move at all. Started out hot with the Twins but cooled off dramatically throughout the year. Re-signing Colby makes more sense. Colabello, 31, owns a .214/.284/.364 slash over 401 plate appearances across the last two seasons with Minnesota. Source: http://www.MLBTradeRumors.com
  11. Estrada offers a game similar to that of Drew Hutchison in terms of WAR/fWAR, but it looks like according to the fat greek that he'll be starting out of the bullpen. With better control than that of Happ, I'm actually quite surprised by that comment. With the likes of Graveman, Jenkins, and Redmond around, long relief is pretty much taken care of. Estrada isn't a back end of the bullpen kind of guy either. The only way I can make sense of this move is that the Jays intend on moving him. He doesn't fit anywhere on this team to be honest with all of you. Leads me to believe this is simply an asset acquisition.
  12. This wouldn't of happened if the Rays were in Montreal... The roof would've caved in from all the rain though.
  13. As for call-ups. Gose (who should be starting in center as is), Goins, Jimenez/Kotteras are the only guys that will be called up for hitters. As for pitchers, with Jenkins already here, I can see Rasmussen, Drabek, Norris, and possibly Delabar brought back.
  14. Yeah they're 1.5 back of Pawtucket...Unless they win the remainder against the Chiefs and the PawSox lose the remainder against Rochester..its over. Henry Owens goes for the Sox tonight at 6, so good luck..lol
  15. Don't blame Bautista...if anything, this is on the Jays front office for not keeping Anthoyn Gose and his speed and defence around. The Jays simply win with him in the lineup. Anyways, execution w/ RISP continually kills this teams' chances. Why on Earth are the Jays two better hitters chasing first pitches out of the zone....a little patience goes a long way. All they needed was a semi-deeply hit fly ball to tie the damn game and they couldn't even muster that. They deserve a loss after that display.
  16. Throw the ball back to the catcher and runner breaks for home and scores?
  17. He'll be back in September... Sadly our backup outfielders are now Reimold and Tolleson. There goes all the defence and speed that was in Toronto's lineup. No late inning defensive replacement, no late inning pinch runner. Again, this move makes me question the Jays decision making.
  18. JP Arencibia pitched a clean 9th inning tonight. Leads me to believe he should become a pitcher.....seeing as how he already hits like one.
  19. James Russell...not Addison Russell
  20. You might as well put Bryant in there too man. Baez or Russell were supposedly said to have an iffy future at short and could move to third. With Bryant at third, Rizzo at first...the Cubs corner infield is locked up. Maybe the Jays should look into a prospect swap here... Would the Cubs be open to a Sanchez+prospect for Castro or Baez swap. If the Jays were really adventurous, they'd try to come up with a package to get Kris Bryant..afterall, the Jays did draft him first...haha. In the end, I have no idea why the Cubs pulled the trigger on this deal. Yes Russell is a stud prospect..however, what the Cubs needed most was pitching..not only on their MLB team (due to the loss of their ace and #3), but in the minors where they are pretty thin for Starters outside of CJ Edwards. If its about collecting assets, the Cubs certainly did. With an infield that could include Bryant/Castro/Alcantara/Rizzo...backed up by Russell/Baez/Bonifacio/Vogelbach....the Cubs have an embarassment of riches in their infield.
  21. How exactly can the Jays call themselves a contender when they throw out the likes of Glenn, Mastroianni, Tolleson and Kawasaki 6-9. None of them given consistent at bats would ever average over .220. That is the worst I've ever seen their lineup. I'm hoping we see Lawrie back soon, Rasmus healthy, Joey Bats back in the field, and possibly a second basemen/third basemen brought in. This musical chair lineup is killing the Jays offense. Nobody gets in a groove...they're in one minute, out the next.
  22. http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/baseballinsider/giants-blue-jays-interested-mets-daniel-murphy-sandy-alderson-selling-blog-entry-1.1839862 This is an interesting name to pop-up. I think he'd make the perfect #2 hitter so we can move Melky down into the 5 spot.
  23. I can't see Sanchez called up...he's not even on the 40-man roster. We all know Alex's affinity for keeping garbage around on our team and not outrighting them to AAA like Rogers etc. I expect Delabar (if not already called up), Drabek, Wagner, Gose, and possibly Goins all recalled as September call-ups.
  24. sorta needed that LOOGY outta the pen...would like to see Ayala eventually...seems to be rounding into form in AAA finally.
  25. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-big-league-stew/brewers-trade-pitcher-brad-mills-to-a-s-for--1--yes--a-dollar-163618241.html Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports had the scoop Tuesday night. Word is, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports, the A's will move Mills into their starting rotation after Drew Pomeranz punched a chair and broke his hand after a rough outing. Mills, 29, has a 7.76 ERA in 53 1/3 major league innings over three stints with the Blue Jays and (for one start in 2012) the Angels. But his numbers at Class AAA Nashville this season have been spectacular: A 1.56 ERA with 77 strikeouts in 75 innings with fewer than one baserunner per inning allowed over 14 games, including 12 starts. Go figure...I'm hoping he does well. Anytime you see someone dealt for a buck you gotta root for the guy.
