  1. This sucks, there are very few owners out there that prioritize the product on the field above all else. It's a damn shame that the kitties could never win under his tenure despite having some of the most stacked lineups + rotations of the past decade. He will be missed.
  2. It's a call umpires almost never make, I don't even remember the last time that happened in a Jays game. I suppose everyone has their own moral compass, I personally would take one for the team if the ball was thrown at me but there's no way in hell I'd lean into a pitch. Work a count for a walk, get a f***ing hit, bunt, do whatever you can but leaning in is bush league, especially considering the scoreline. And is a no hitter really that much less embarrassing than a perfect game?
  3. I'm not one to endorse unwritten rules as I think a majority of them are idiotic but come on, there has to be some kind of honor system. When Schilling lost his perfect game to a bunt I had absolutely no issues with it as a) it was a 1 run game and a bunt is still hard as f*** to execute properly at the ML level. What skill did Tabata display here outside of nursing a bruised elbow for a couple days? I would be pissed off as a pitcher at any point in the game if a guy leaned in as hard as he did, let alone in the bottom of the 9th with a perfect game on the line. It's just a scumbag move...
  4. how so? This f***er broke a perfect game by leaning into a pitch when his team was down 6-0 with 2 outs in the 9th. Dick move by all accounts.
  5. where's edwin? why didn't you sign edwin? any chances of picking up munenori? why didn't you wait a few weeks before moving on from edwin? the average attendance was a near sellout last year, why can't we spend like the yankees now? who is gonna play left field, is melky cabrera an option? something something opening day starter won't be missing this event tbh!
  6. Every Sunday really? I mean it's not the biggest deal in the world but it definitely cheapens the experience.
  7. Excellent news! f*** the Joey haters, I love this guy
  8. If the team couldn't find a way to fit in Edwin I really doubt they're gonna shuffle guys around for Trumbo. He's not gonna come cheap either, he could realistically get 35-40 mil+
  9. Isn't that because he has no prior MLB experience so steamer just assumes the worst? I feel like all rookies are treated this way except super prospects like Bryant although for all I know his first year projections could have been close to replacement level.
  10. Would Stroman for Dahl straight up work? I'm not sure who would have to kick in more as Stroman has ML experience but he's heading into arbitration where as Dahl will be dirt cheap for a while
  11. I mean that lineup + Archer/Odorizzi/Smyly/Cobb would be pretty nasty, I wouldn't say it's that bold. I have no idea who the hell is returning to their bullpen but it's the Rays so I'd imagine it'll be at least average.
  12. If we can't outbid the f***ing Rays of all teams for Joey then just end my life now fam
  13. Compared to Thole he's Johnny Bench. We need a real backup catcher, f*** Dioner
  14. This sucks pretty hard but at least Dumbrowski's war chest is getting smaller, pls get Fowler.
  15. I'm all for getting Cutch but I don't think Shatkins will pillage the farm for him, that seems like an AA move. The new regime seems a lot more conservative to me.
  16. I mean 2 years of Machado for 3 of Sale isn't out of the realm of possibility but the inclusion of Eaton is just domb. Also you'd need a third team involved, the White Sox aren't some kind of middleman service...
  17. Morales last 8 seasons: wRC+ 2009: 136 2010: 128 (51 games played) 2012: 119 2013: 119 2014: 72 (98 games played due to Boras qualifying offer situation) 2015: 130 2016: 110 Pretty consistent above average hitter to me. You have to look at the big picture when it comes to hitting.
  18. I hope the Indians win solely to extend the curse, that would be too funny. Kipnis has a good chance of missing game 1 from an ankle injury he sustained celebrating in game 5 of the ALCS (lol). Salazar is back though and if I had to guess how he will be used it'll probably be alongside Clevinger or Ryan "JAYS SLAYER" Merritt for the eventual bullpen game.
  19. pls offense , wake up from your asleep, we doesnt have much time
  20. 3 hard hit balls in a row, Happ is gonna need some luck to get through this one.
  21. hahahaha Joey with the solid D, I love it
  22. I really don't like Tepera and Feldman over Pompey. My guess is Gibby wants the extra arms in case Osuna can't pitch but this really f***s us late in the game if someone like Saunders or Navarro gets on base and we have no one to PR them for.
  23. gonna miss most of the first two games because of work, fml. 1pm on a Friday is
  24. save us JBJ with a nice popout
