Once AA gets A) and done i took the route that he wouldn't have much money left and also who would come here as a free agent . Ellis is barely above replacement level but the lack of good 2nd baseman and the lack of money made me suggest this . i could have suggested trading for Kendrick with a pkg starting with Hutch but man we need every pitcher we have . We could also try and spring Ackley but what do we have to move . I guess if the budget is whatever we want then go pay cano whatever he asks for . Just wanted to make my post as realistically possible as I could .

Gomes would have played 3rd at the start of the season when Lawrie was out . he then would have caught occasionally when JPA struggled and then when it was obvious JPAisn't a catcher gomes would have slid into the role and JPA would have been sent down . Only way we salvage this trade is if Rogers suddenly gains spotless control and pitches great . About as likely as Morrow throwing 32 starts and R Romero regaining his 2010/2011 confidence and control

Seriously Step 1) Sign Carlos Ruiz , Mccann is the best out there and he would be a huge fit but I,m realistic on who will come here . Overpay and get Ruiz .Strike fast Step 2) Win the bid for Tanaka and sign him . FA market is just slim and will be overpriced so why will anyone come here . tanaka has no choice if we win the bid Step 3) Sign a 2nd baseman in the Mark Ellis mode . Nothing great but solid 1 war type Step 4) Sign Kurt Suzuki , yes overpaying for a back up catcher but we need the depth. step 5) hope pray realize that hoping and praying will not help repeat the hope/prayer process

I,m still out on the bat , he missed so much time that he may just be a slow developer and yes he has an arm but He makes little league type mistakes . I have coached high school kids that had better fundamentals . I just don't see how his coaches could not drum it into him in that amt of time -

His minor league #,s suggest he will have to play stellar defense to be a utility guy

Well lets look at the #,s Goins is 25 years old has played over 500 games in the minors has a career 706 OPS with no speed . Meh hard to get excited and the only reason some are is cause we had revolving s*** at 2nd all year . All about what we want to go for next year , a playoff spot or the first pick in the draft . AA isn't going to rebuild this offseason so we have to A) get a catcher , Get a starter and C) get a 2nd baseman and above all improve the defense

hell i would love to see JPA in there catching Dickey . I can just see him stabbing his glove up missing and getting plunked right in the face . LOL Now that would be worth watching the rest of this AAA roster

AA has gone to watch all top international FAs but he might still go and get a look if the kid gets posted . I just thought it weird that Tinnish went without him. -
Either we field a team that can win or go full rebuild . I would wait till the trade deadline then if we aren't in first trade the works Makes absolutely no sense to just trade one or two . Gut the frigging thing and look to get some # 1 picks . The question is would you let AA,s team do the gut job and the rebuild ?

he had one of the worst minor league system in baseball that we are still suffering from . lets not go there . The JPR era in Toronto was a dark period I edited this cause the frigging spelling nazis are back . I hate spelling Nazi

AA wants his people to see all good free agents to compare for future reference . Tinnish going there means nothing . in fact because AA didn't go with them I would suggest we aren't in the mix -
If Melky can't play a decent LF then he is a bench bat . Ruiz ( I doubt McCann could be paid to come here ) is the biggest priority . I hate having Gose as our 4th OF cause he needs to play every day to see IF he can hit . I hate to admit it but I would like Davis back .

I just don't think the Jays give up on him quite yet so i think he gets sent down . I am with you on Ruiz , I firmly believe AA overpays and locks him up for 2 years

I have to agree , Christ the guy has less baseball sense than a lot of GCL players

That is an understatement . I don't know how a guy who is that athletic can play over 700 games in the minors and be that bad .

our chances for next year mostly rely on guys rebounding and a hope and a prayer so why would we not Romero is part of that . I think that is about as likely as morrow making 32 starts

Now wouldn't that be a huge lift for the team if next year Romero came all the way back to his 2010/2011 type season . guy can always hope .
