  1. to spend 50 + mil on a prospect even if you really like him you need to have the money . I doubt AA has that right now .
  2. Your dreaming AA is not selling this year . Maybe next year at the break if the team is as bad but not this year . Not happening .
  3. Dickey definitly does not have control of his knuckle ball tonite . hope he gets it soon.
  4. at BEST he is a 4/5 which makes my point is we have NO top of rotation starters without much hope of getting any . the lefties we have are all 4,s at best and that is if they pitch up to potential. We have to pray Dickey regains his last years stuff and Morrow somehow stays healthy . That would be like winning the lotto .( about the same odds )
  5. Dickey if healthy could be a # 2 but more likely a 3/4, JJ is history ( Can't see AA giving him a qualifing offer as he would have to take it ), Morrow is a Rich Hardin clone and can't be counted on at all, Buehrle is a #4/5 on a winning AL east team and Happ at best a #6 , Romero with command and confidence a 4/5 type and then we go to the likes of Hutch, Reyes . Drabek and McGowan are BP pieces . It is a frigging mess with a bunch of 4/5 guys . Can't see any hope of getting a top rotation guy so start praying that someone steps up .
  6. Looks like AA is set to go into next year with much the same team and is not making any changes . Trading either would pretty much mean a rebuild so if you trade one then gut the frigging thing and do a total rebuild . nobody from Rogers on down wants to do that now . It will be interesting what AA does this offseason . I would not be surpried if not much happens and we go into 2014 with much the same team minus the free agents .
  7. Where is He going to go that would give him a better shot at getting back . Jays rotation is a mess
  8. <<<>>> Which is exactly what Beeston and AA stated was the team philosophy. So why the change in direction ?? The owner pushed for this move !!! I firmly believe this ! I believe AA was smart enough to know this wasn't the year . Agreed that this is the cause of most knowledgeable fans . But we are in a minority . MOST fans would rather AA trade away what little we have on the farm for a rental and then when it didn't work go away and use the excuse of non competitiveness as to why . Frustrating as it is I see no reason to call for AA,s head , Beeston,s maybe !
  9. NO Lets be honest , BTS is right in the fact that AA had no AAA depth and the guys in AA were far from ready then the panic set in when the usual happened with Morrow (Rich Hardin the 2nd and JJ (Rich Hardin the 3rd) went down . Had he depth ( Jenkins was on the DL , Romero changing his delivery and McGuire stinking it up ) then the panic moves like calling up Romero after only 1 A ball start and the Nolin fiasco would not of happened . Lincoln and Rogers had not been stretched out . AA knew Morrow,s and JJ,s history , He knew at the start of the season the status of Romero , Jenkins and McGuire . Hindsight is always 20-20 and I hate people saying he should be fired because all indications are that Rogers and Beeston pushed the offseason moves but no one can ignore the issues that were right in front of AA,s face .
  10. I do agree with BTS on Cecil . It is Cecil time . start stretching him out
  11. And i posted that I didn,t like the gut job of the minors but would Eat the cake since I couldn't have what i wanted. Still we are the most injured team in baseball and no one plans for that . The one thing is two or even five wrongs don't make a right . The Nolin fiasco should have us realizing blowing option years on these kids is stupid . Doing it to Stroman now to me is just another wrong . blowing prospects in a trade is another wrong and how many wrongs do we think will make it right . Wang gave us some innings and time for Happ or Morrow or Romero to come back . They aren't coming but we got some good innings out of him . Time to start developing for next year ,
  12. I think we have come to the point where there are no better options . This season is now about getting a rotation together for next year and blowing an option on stroman makes no sense when he isn't ready . Reason the Rays have had such success is they don't bring up pitchers until they are ready and able to pitch a full season of 180 to 200 innings. Lets face it Johnson and Morrow are = to Rich Hardin, Romero =,s self destruction and Buehrle is a #5 in the AL EAST , Happ a #6 . So much as I hate to screw up a good thing with Cecil in the BP we need starters . MAYBE , We can catch lightning in a bottle with both Cecil and Rogers .
  13. And what the f*** would you do ?? blow some more options on guys that aren't close to being ready ?? Bad enough we called up Romero after only one start and screwed him up then blew an option on Nolin . I'm still pissed at that . Or do you want to gut the minors even more for a rental when 1/2 the frigging team is injured If you want to post s*** , give alternatives
  14. And just who the hell should we have used . The cuboard was dry . He gave us 2 quality starts out of 5 . I,m sure we could have let Nolin get his brains beat out or Jenkins and then lost all 5 of those games instead of getting some wins . Yes it pisses me off that Morrow is ALWAYS on the DL Guy can step on a toothpick and twist an ankle , and yes it pisses me off that Romero self destructed and then the Jays mishandled it and really screwed him up . I supose people think we should have brought up Sanchez ?? Why not blow an option on him too . Just who would you have pitched Stache
  15. I have heard on MLB radio that it is in the 50 to 60 mil range and that there are 5 or 6 teams looking hard including the Yankees , Dodgers and Jays
  16. Bowden talked about him today on Inside Pitch . Said some scouts he respects told him the guy can pitch in the majors now . So can Wang and a lot of others .
  17. IF AA trades Aron Sanchez or Osuna for a rental I will be pissed and call for his head
  18. Cubs want a bundle for Garza . More than what a supplimental pick would bring in a strong draft class . Yes Sanchez or Osuna + . This team is so inconsistant that rental deals are nuts . Cubs are mulling over signing him long term and are definitely giving him a qualifying offer if they don't get their asking price .
  19. A lot of teams we have to pass including the Yankees and O,s . Nothing a 10 game winning streak won't fix but the front end of our rotation has to start getting lites out consistantly . Rogers and Wang can be 500 ,the other three need to really pitch
  20. Jays are a plus 1 ,Yanks go to minus 14
  21. Jays Plus 1 run differential and the Yankees are minus 10
  22. What more can you ask of a starter than to go 6 scorless innings .after being a reliever most of the season . great job by Rogers and sorry that ALL, ALL of us on this board called you s*****
