Kawasaki has been the biggest surprise of the season . I like this guy . gets on base and works counts and plays decent defense.

jenkins dong alright considering he hasn't pitched in 2 weeks . Offense needs to get in gear and hopefully jenkins can hang in there till his sinker gets better

The stupidity was letting jenkins ( a sinkerballer ) sit for 2 weeks while we trotted out the likes of Ortiz

Yes cheap BP arms like Janssen will be valuable come July but I'm not sure I trade him as He is just as valuable to us in 2014 . Lets face it we have used 10 different starters so far this year . No team wins with that many pitching injuries . We need to trade with 2014 in mind . Gose can take Rasmus,s spot and when Healthy Davis , Oliver and hopefully Izturis can be moved . DFA Blanco and De Rosa and that clears enough 40 man roster spots to build for next year .

Some of us expected Lind to have a good year . 1) working with CM and his all fields approach . 2) when he got DFA,ed and NO ONE wanted him for nothing he woke up to the fact unless he focused on Baseball his career was over . So he comes to ST in shape and focused on baseball . 3) Strict Platoon . Still this is too small a sample size to suggest he is back. He needs to be kept on a short leash . Trouble with Lind is If we pick up his option he could get lazy again and come back next year out of shape and stinking up the roster -
Pitching and defense is now the big issue now that the offense has come around . We need to trade with 2014 in mind and thus have to aquire guys who don't need to be put on the 40 man roster . The 40 man has huge issues coming up as guys start coming back from the 60 day DL . Somewhere AA has to clear 7 roster spots

Nah , He will sell just not until at the deadline which won't get us as much . still we can hope Oliver , Davis and JJ come off the DL and play lites out and Izturis starts to hit so we can get something back

Could we maximize our returns by selling before the deadline ? I think we are almost at that point so if JJ can come back off the DL and pitch well then I believe he should be shopped. Who would you be shopping and when . Unfortunately My list of JJ Davis , Oliver and Rasmus are mostly on the DL Not sure we can get anything for Izturis but Kawasaki has played way better

Exactly , +1 and the sooner the better . I'm now looking at what can be done to set this team up for 2014 . and that is one move I make as soon as I get the best deal I think I can get . Soon as Oliver has a good run then He is gone too . get JJ back from Injury and pitching well and gone . Replenish the minors a little .
