    lots of outrage in this thread, but I have to ask - If Alford never gets his highly unlikely call-up and instead is injured in the minors, is everyone still as mad? Or is all the outrage just because of the extra service time? Personally I am much more annoyed that he might take 2 years to get his power back....

    He honestly looked more comfortable than he does in the outfield. Certainly a small number of chances but it seems like he can handle the hard grounders and there just isn't as much opportunity to make a fool of himself at third compared to the OF. The arm really plays up at third as well. I would definitely be interested in seeing more of him at 3rd instead of Barney or Coghlan if JD misses any more time

    Jays need to win 2/3 of their remaining games to finish with 88 wins. The fact that the Jays have done this the last two years is pretty amazing but its probably not overly likely to happen for a third straight year
