  1. I'm so glad I dealt a huge package for him and Falcon Smash (his own hand) Luzardo in my dynasty league. It's working out gangbusters.
  2. on a non depressing note, how big is 3 short games in a row for our BP. Plus all of those games only saw 2 pitchers. Huge for resting the taxed pen.
  3. lol, doesn't mean the allegation isn't true or serious... buuuuuutttttttt
  4. that's a big negative. I haven't even watched ANY playoffs, its over for me
  5. any issues if I quit now or is it better if you have another owner to transfer the team to? Not sure if that causes any issues or makes things easier.
  6. Seems like the perfect time to introduce robo-umps. End of a (s*****) era.
  7. Is it not all a result of the structure of baseball free agency? This is the only age bracket where you can really improve by only spending money. So that is where the money is spent.
  8. Huge series vs the BoSox. Good time with the bats hot. Can't wait!
  9. yeah he isn't on the forum and hasn't really had much of a role the last few years.
  10. I want the players to be paid well, but they are paid stupid well at only one point in their careers. It would be better to see a system where guys get paid for what they are producing, no matter if they are in year 1, or year 10 in the show. And obviously to be paid better as they are coming up in the minors. I think I would be rooting for more fairly distributed pay more than anything. The owners make too much for sure. Would be better (in fantasy world) if the cities / states owned the teams. Put the revenue from our dumb obsession with high performance kids sports back into society. Would also stop that 'public money into private arenas' nonsense.
  11. Friends! I am sadly going to leave the league. I am a very busy father of 2 young gals, which leaves very little time for fantasy hockey musing. But beyond that, I have just fallen out of love with hockey. I hope you keep this thing going, and I hope my boy Spanky wins the title next year!
  12. I'd ban the shift in a heartbeat. Nothing 'wrong' with it, but it promotes boring outcomes, so why not?
  13. Roboumps and strike zone modification would be my preferred as they don't really change the fundamental nature of the game. If that just isn't working, look at moving back the mound. I for one have loved the 3 batter rule. Pitching changes wreck the pace of the game. None of that was anything new in the thread, so I'll take a stab at something. What about eliminating warm up pitches when the BP guy comes in? (or greatly reducing) They have been throwing in the pen, why do they need to throw a bunch more from the mound? I've never pitched at any kind of competitive level, so maybe this is extremely important, but maybe not. Obviously not including injury switches. What I like about this is that pitching changes become a very quick affair and don't break the pace or stop an intense moment.
  14. IDGAF!!!! Switching hitting is cool as s***!
  15. He did only go 3.2 innings, so that's a bit of a blemish.
  16. It sort of feels like 2, maybe 3 of those balls would have been caught by better fielders. Still fun to see!
  17. I offered you Story for Wander last year, would have been helpful... just say'n
  18. Don't waste those bullets in a guy like Manoah.
  19. I've got Albies, Jazz, and France. I can part with one
  20. yeah I think that is defs part of it. And probably goes hand in hand with robo-umps.
  21. really, my argument about BIP isn't about THIS game specifically. You just see these bonkers K numbers on the regular. Is it cool to see Scherzer and DeGrom, two HOF pitchers, duke it out every once and a while. Yeah, yeah it is. But it happens ALL the time in this league. Playing for 3 true outcome ball might be the way to produce a winning team. Not saying its "bad". I just don't think it makes for the most entertaining product.
  22. yes I do. Very few balls in play is pretty boring baseball when it happens on the regular. A K at a big moment is very exciting. A K every other AB is boring to me.
  23. 6 is a super interesting idea. Would that stop pitchers burying breaking balls so much. Interesting. I don't think I know the answer, but I'm not opposed to #1. I'm not sure that velo becomes much more important in those scenarios or not. I'd have to think about it. 3 is a no brainer, just do it MLB! I would also consider 'banning' the shift. I don't think they are 'wrong' by any means, but they take away hits on well hit balls, so if you are trying to encourage balls in play, I think that's a decent way. Just make sure teams keep players on the appropriate side of second. No 4 outfielders etc.
  24. There was 25 K's in the Marlins v Brewers game yesterday. That's pretty close to half the outs in the game recorded by strikeout. That doesn't sound like exciting baseball. Bring back the BIP!
  25. What is going on in SD?
