  6. Here are all of Francisco Rios strikeouts from yesterday. I may make some more GIFs if the feedback is good (also if you have any requests feel free to post here). Strikeout #1, 2nd inning vs Elvis Rubio Strikeout #2, 3rd inning vs Luis Aviles. The 1-1 pitch is missing because it wasn't shown on the broadcast. Strikeout #3, 4th inning vs Max McDowell Strikeout #4, 4th inning vs Isan Diaz Strikeout #5, 6th inning vs Elvis Rubio (double steal bonus)
  7. I have it. The video quality isn't too great, but if you can handle it, then it's easily worth the $50. And there are a decent amount of Lugnut games on, but they all come from other teams parks. New Hampshire, no scoreboard, pretty low quality. http://i.imgur.com/HOGZogE.png Buffalo is a lot better http://i.imgur.com/c8GQPkf.png
  8. The guy can hit. Last year had a 218 wRC+ in Low A (followed by pedestrian 93 wRC+ in High A) but this season he's raking again with a 195 wRC+ in High A. He's getting old turns 24 in May so he needs to be raking in AA or AAA raking like this if he wants a chance to be anything in the MLB. Maybe Jonathan Davis to AA, Andrew Guillotte to High A soon

Gibson is signed on the cheap for the next 3 seasons I think Andersen is the one that is traded. If the Leafs can get him for a reasonable price then you take it run IMO. https://ca.sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nhl-puck-daddy/frederik-andersen-on-his-goaltending-future---i-want-to-play-a-lot-212535022.html ANAHEIM, Calif. – Frederik Andersen knows he’s an NHL level No. 1 goaltender. Not only has he proven himself as an everyday starter during the regular season, in the playoffs he’s taken the Anaheim Ducks to Game 7 of the Western Conference Final. “Of course, you want to play. That's the bottom line. You want to be in net. When you know you can play, you want to be in net,” Andersen said. For most teams re-signing him as a restricted free agent in the offseason would be a no-brainer. But the Ducks have a bit of a different situation with their goaltenders. John Gibson was re-signed last September for the manageable salary cap hit number of $2.3 million per-season over the next three years. The 22-year-old Gibson made the NHL All-Star team this past year and had a 2.07 goal-against average and .920 save percentage in 40 games as Andersen, who came into the season as the Ducks' No. 1, dealt with a few different health problems. Andersen finished the year with a 22-9-7 record, a 2.30 goal-against average and .919 save percentage. Gibson started the first two games of the playoffs, losing both before relinquishing the net to Andersen. The 26-year-old Andersen’s two-year $2.3 million contract is set to expire on July 1. While he’s arguably the Ducks’ most experienced goaltending option, he’s also Anaheim’s most valuable trade chip this offseason. The Ducks don’t need two starting goaltenders and could plug another roster hole by trading a netminder. Andersen will likely command a greater per-year salary than Gibson in his next deal. “I think when the time comes some decision will be made,” Andersen said. “I like playing here. I know all the guys love having me in the net. I like it here, so obviously would love to play.” Speaking with reporters at Ducks getaway day, Andersen sounded like a person who didn’t want to leave Anaheim. The Ducks picked him in the third-round of the 2012 NHL Draft and worked with him to help him become a solid NHL netminder. His status won’t change how he prepares for next season if he’s in Anaheim or somewhere else. “I've got to talk to my trainers, plan my summer and take it from there,” Andersen said. “It doesn't matter where I'll play. It doesn't matter how I prepare. I have to make sure I prepare the right way and prepare for next year.” Andersen didn’t sound 100 percent comfortable when asked about sharing the net next season with Gibson again. “It's possible. Never write anything off. Who knows? It's too early to tell,” he said. “I don't know if it'll happen. We'll see. I want to play a lot.” General manager Bob Murray understands that both Andersen and Gibson may not want play on the same team next year simply because they both want the majority of ice-time. “I mean, they’re No. 1 goalies. Any good No. 1 goalie I’ve known in my life wants the bloody net,” Murray said. “So, do they want that? That’s an issue. But, they’re a pretty good team. It would be nice, but we’ll see." Expansion could also play a role in Murray’s goaltending decision. If teams are only allowed to protect one goaltender, he’ll have to trade one to not lose him for nothing. Expansion could happen as soon as 2017-18. “We have two very good young goaltenders, and again, you have to remember when you’re talking about this - expansion draft… if we have expansion,” Murray noted. Even though the decision is tough, it’s a choice a lot of general managers would like to have. But it has to be right for the team and the goaltender. And it sounds that the Ducks embarrassment of goaltending riches has hit a tipping point.

I wonder which team will take the 6'6, poor skating, defensive defenseman Logan Stanley in the 1st round.
  15. I'm watching the Lugnuts game. I like what I've seen from Rios, fastball has arm side run, he throws strikes and works quickly. 2IP 0H 0ER 0BB 1K. The 1K he threw Elvis Rubio a few fastballs away and then froze him with a slider. 3rd inning, was another quick inning with another K coming on the slider. 33 pitches, 26 strikes through 3 innings (!). 4th inning, gave up a deep flyball to Monte Harrison, but it was caught on the warning track for an out. To Max McDowell, he threw a fastball outside, followed by 2 sliders for called strikes, then a 3rd slider fouled away, and then he got him swinging on a 93 mph fastball (stadium gun, not sure how accurate, but seems to fit most of the reports) up in the zone. 4IP 0H 0ER 0BB 4K, 45 pitches 35 strikes, 4go-4fo 5th inning, he got a Elvis Rubio to groundout on a 1st pitch fastball. First time he's getting hit a bit as he gave up a 3-2 single to Carlos Belonis and another single to Jacob Gatewood. The Belonis single was a looper to CF and the Gatewood hit was a hard hit line drive down the LF line. He got out of the jam with a weakly hit ball to 2B and a flyout to RF on the slider. 5IP 2H 0ER 0BB 4k, 60 pitches 44 strikes, 6go - 4fo A side note - I'm not sure who this Jon Perrin guy is for the Brewers. But he has good minor league numbers so far (late 2015 draftee) and he's dominating the Lugnuts today. 6IP 3H 2ER 0BB 8K Rios is back out for the 6th inning. First batter he faces he induces a groundball but Cardenas with a throwing error allows him to reach first. Monte Harrison flies out to CF in the next at bat. Rios threw a fastball in the dirt for a wild pitch that allowed the runner to advance to 2B. McDowell hit a single up the middle, and Isan Diaz laced a line drive down the RF line. Starting to get hit around a bit now. Double steal allows the runner to take home.. then Rios got Elvis Rubio on another slider away for the K. Belonis hit a line drive up the middle that allowed Diaz to score. Belonis stole 2B but then advanced to 3rd on the throw down into CF. Gatewood popped up to end the inning. 6IP 5H 3R(1er) 0BB 5K, 82 pitches 59 strikes, 7go-7fo. I'm not sure if he'll be back out for the 7th inning so that could be the final line. He worked mostly fastball/slider. If he doesn't stick as a starter his fastball/slider combo might play up well out of the bullpen.

With Marner, Nylander, and Matthews all entering the lineup next season I would say thats your core for the future already. Surround them with good players and make the playoffs. Otherwise, run the risk of going full Oilers Maybe trade for a goalie at the draft, like Jones and Schneider in years past. Freddy Andersen makes the most sense imo

  24. He was injured. Placed on the DL now but is apparently expected to miss only one start. In other news, the real Jon Harris was reinstated off the temp. inactive list after a family issue and just finished his start today. 4IP 2H 0ER 1BB 4K
