  1. Send him to Bluefield!
  2. I like it for both teams. I doubt the Padres could have gotten a better prospect than Espinoza. Pomeranz shoulder has blown in the past though, and it was barking in June, could very well blow again.
  3. Evan Drellich ‏@EvanDrellich 19s20 seconds ago Source: Espinoza is going to the Padres as at least part of the trade for Drew Pomeranz. Holy s***!
  4. I wonder what the return will be
  5. Mitch McKown was a disaster today (and every other appearance he's made) Pitching Change: Mitch McKown replaces Juan Meza. Defensive Substitution: Manuel Herazo replaces catcher Owen Spiwak, batting 8th, playing catcher. Mickey Moniak walks. With Aaron Altherr batting, wild pitch by Mitch McKown, Mickey Moniak to 2nd. With Aaron Altherr batting, wild pitch by Mitch McKown, Mickey Moniak to 3rd. With Aaron Altherr batting, wild pitch by Mitch McKown, Mickey Moniak scores. Aaron Altherr walks. Jhailyn Ortiz walks. Aaron Altherr to 2nd. Pitching Change: Orlando Pascual replaces Mitch McKown. Chris King ‏@StatsKing 6m6 minutes ago @Matt_Winkelman hard to believe, but it was way worse than that box score shows. Seriously Chris King ‏@StatsKing 4m4 minutes ago @Matt_Winkelman he bounced 4 pitches about 50 ft then another 5 pitches went over the batters heads and into the backstop Chris King ‏@StatsKing 4m4 minutes ago @Matt_Winkelman I wouldn't have let Altherr hit against him. He came close to taking 1 to the head. Ortiz was taking 2 steps back at release
  6. Brad Mills and JDL are opposites, though. Mills was a pitchabilty lefty, who could not strike out over a batter per inning at the upper levels of the minors. http://i.imgur.com/WruU428.png JDL has posted strikeouts rates of 12 K/9 ++ throughout the upper levels of the minors with a mid 90s fastball and nasty changeup.
  7. Bryan: Rowdy Tellez is tearing up AA of late as a 21 year old. Can he possibly become a league average 1b/DH in MLB? I believe I recall you saying he has a “long swing”–will that prevent him from reaching the big leagues? Klaw: No. Can’t hit quality pitching. Once again, How do you put up a 150 wRC+ in AA without being able to hit quality pitching? Holy f***!
  8. And his chat, here: http://meadowparty.com/blog/2016/07/14/klawchat-71416/ Scott: How close was Jose DeLeon to making the list? Are there injury concerns based on the past few months or is the upside not as high as the others on the list? Klaw: Just don’t see the upside. Great makeup, good feel to pitch, but there’s a lack of a swing-and-miss weapon there. How do you post these K Rates in the minors without a "swing and miss weapon"? God damnit Keith http://i.imgur.com/F5qwsxr.png And his Swinging Strike % in AA this year was 14.6%, in AAA its 14.1%.

  10. His MLB Pipeline profile, says similiar things. -- Though he can hit the mid 90s, Maese works more in the 90-93 mph range with his fastball and already displays feel for pitching to both sides of the plate. His heater is more dynamic than the velocity suggests, too, as his fast arm and low three-quarters slot give it excellent sinking action that generates a ton of ground balls. The slider is relatively new to his arsenal but shows the makings of a second plus pitch, and his changeup is understandably raw due to a lack of experience. Maese's athleticism is obvious on the mound, and it's easy to envision him growing into his projectable frame in the coming years. His outstanding sinker should keep the door open for him as a starter and reliever, but he'll need to refine his slider, develop a changeup and refine his control and command to stick in the rotation.
  11. He needs to add another swing + miss pitch. Easy to see why he put up a K/9 of 4.79 in the GCL last year and 6.78 K/9 in Vancouver this season. You can survive at the lower levels of the minors with the sinker he has, just mixing up the location. They just hammer it into the ground.
  12. He throws a slider at 86/87.
  13. I would be surprised if they lost a draft pick. Ortiz will probably be fined, pocket change.

RHP Chris Rowley (L, 7-2) allowed a pair of runs in four of the six inning in which he pitched, totaling eight earned on 13 hits. A two-run home run by SS Cole Tucker in the first put Bradenton on top early. In the bottom of the first, the Jays' provided most of their offense for the night, highlighted by LF Ryan McBroom's three-run bomb to put Dunedin up 3-2. A C Danny Jansen double gave the Jays' a 4-2 lead, but the Marauders came right back with two more runs of their own in the top of the second. In the fifth, 2B Pablo Reyes ripped a double down the left field line just past third base, plating two, and re-gaining the lead for Bradenton. The Marauders added two more insurance runs in the sixth, giving them a, 8-2 lead. The Jays brought the tying run to the plate in the eighth inning, but 2B Andy Fermin popped out on the first pitch he saw to short, ending the threat. RHP Austin Coley (W, 10-7) settled in during his start after a rocky first inning to pick up his FSL-leading tenth win of the year. He has factored in the decision in all 17 of his starts this year. RHP Luis Heredia (S, 10) notched the save in the ninth. Game two is at 6:30 PM on Thursday night. RHP Sean Reid-Foley dons the mound for Dunedin as he faces RHP Buddy Borden. http://i.imgur.com/jN9eWsP.png http://i.imgur.com/QYolYQ7.png http://i.imgur.com/zp7jRTq.png http://i.imgur.com/fCt3UtH.png http://i.imgur.com/3uAKR6w.png http://i.imgur.com/XkN4I40.png http://i.imgur.com/OBqXJGI.png http://i.imgur.com/ePrnys6.png http://i.imgur.com/7VSGoEZ.png http://i.imgur.com/ioHCDsW.png http://i.imgur.com/IRP7OJa.png http://i.imgur.com/zmUSkmP.png http://i.imgur.com/Okg3Z0k.png http://i.imgur.com/VfKS7jT.png Kings 3 Stars of the Night 1) Alvaro Galindo: Galindo went 5IP 5H 1ER 2BB 7K on route to a DSL Blue Jays 13-2 win. 2) Bo Bichette: Bichette went 3/5 with a double. 3) Nash Knight: Nash Knight went 3/3 with a double and a walk. Kings Platinum Arencibia 1) Chris Rowley: Rowley got lit up for 13 hits, 8 earned runs and 3 walks in 5.1 innings.

  18. I'd be surprised if it was open after the minor league season is over.. but you could always email them, they would know for sure http://www.milb.com/content/page.jsp?ymd=20080702&content_id=41074762&fext=.jsp&vkey=news_t424&sid=t424
  19. They have a Jays store at the Florida Auto Exchange Stadium but its pretty small.
  20. With that said.. it does look like a good pick. 3/4 today with a double. Guy can hit
  21. Probably a similiar spot. It's too early to say if he was a steal or not, he's only ~50 PAs into his pro career. Ask again in 5 years
  22. Conner Greene/Rowdy Tellez - New Hampshire Francisco Rios/Sean Reid Foley/Richard Urena/Anthony Alford - Dunedin Jon Harris/Max Pentecost/Angel Perdomo/Ryan Borucki - Lansing Cavan Biggio/Justin Maese/JB Woodman/TJ Zeuch - Vancouver Jose Espada/Hansel Rodriguez/Vladimir Guerrero Jr/Reggie Pruitt/Edward Olivares - Bluefield Bo Bichette/DJ Daniels/Guad Chavez/Kevin Vicuna/Travis Hosterman - GCL Blue Jays I could go on, but thats a decent list. I guess
  23. A quick twitter search tells me the general opinion is that this is not true.
  24. Seems a little unfair. He didn't even know the lyrics were changed when he was asked the question, he was probably caught off guard.
