  1. I can agree about BP. I like the eyewitness reports and minor league game notes. It's not all dark and gloom there.
  2. Not like BP has been that great recently, since they lost most of their writers, like Jason Parkes, and goofs like Bret Sayre are running the show. Fangraphs is pretty good with Longenhagen and McDaniel was excellent. MLB.com is great considering for free content as well.
  3. What reports? Twins wanted De Leon, Alvarez/Buehler and some lower level flyers. Dodgers didn't want to give up more than De Leon and lower level flyers. http://www.fanragsports.com/mlb/heyman-dodgers-twins-standstill-dozier-trade-talks/
  4. Heard it was getting stale.

  6. Terrible according to BP. Sandwiched between Juan Centeno, Wellington Castillo, Carlos Ruiz, Kurt Suzuki and Robinson Chirinos last year. Same thing in 2015.
  7. He's also underselling Valbuena because Steamer only projects him for 228 PA right now. 0.9 WAR/600. I think most people would take the over on the 97 wRC+, 310 wOBA projection too.
  8. Angels add another decent player for cheap, and now project to win 84 games. Same as the Cardinals, Mariners and Blue Jays.
  9. State of the franchise season ticket holder event will not be held this year
  10. Callis already said he has him at #31 on his own personal top 50

  12. http://www.espn.com/blog/keith-law/insider/post?id=6172 Keith Law started his top 100, but it's behind a paywall
  13. And... with projections. LF Mallex Smith .297 wOBA CF Kevin Kiermaier .317 wOBA RF Colby Rasmus .302 wOBA 3B Evan Longoria .332 wOBA SS Matt Duffy .309 wOBA 2B Nick Franklin .302 wOBA 1B Brad Miller .328 wOBA C Wilson Ramos .308 wOBA Fangraphs has them at 82 wins. 21st ranked in runs scored (on par with the White Sox and Mets) and 9th ranked in runs against (on par with the Red Sox and Cardinals).
  14. Greg (Tallahassee): I keep thinking Florida is higher than it should be in all these rankings. I get that the rotation and the lineup should be solid, but there are essentially zero returners in the bullpen who have thrown any significant innings. What am I missing? Teddy Cahill: I really, really like this Florida team. If the rotation and lineup are as good as they should be, that lessens the pressure on the bullpen. This rotation has a chance to be better than last year’s, as hard as that may be to believe given that Logan Shore and A.J. Puk have moved on to pro ball. Alex Faedo and Brady Singer could be the No. 1 overall pick in each of the next two years Read more at http://www.baseballamerica.com/college/2017-college-preseason-top-25-chat/#LyWt7dbK42sxCkFg.99 Teddy Cahill has Brady Singer as a potential 1-1 candidate in 2018. That's the Seth Beer draft so probably not going to happen.
  15. I'll miss seeing Yordano pitch. His small stature and electric fastball was fun to watch. Wish I could have seen him live when I was in KC in 2015 but he wasn't scheduled to pitch in that series. RIP

  20. I'm looking at BP, not statcorner. In either case. He's a bad receiver which carries negative value. He has a noodle arm which also carries negative value (though not as much). And he's a below average hitter. He's not a good player. If we are looking for a backup catcher who can't hit, may as well get one who is good at defense. Suzuki is good at neither.
  21. 2011, 10th worst framing stats in MLB 2012, 7th 2013, 15th 2014, 2nd 2015, 6th 2015, 13th "average or slightly below"
