  1. Jon Heyman @JonHeyman 35s36 seconds ago Cano suspension is for a diuretic, which is seen as a masking agent. suspension is treated as a PED tho.
  2. Heyman and Rosenthal confirm.
  3. Is anyone watching this Giants/Reds game? About a million seagulls have taken residency in the outfield.
  4. Romano sucks. Doesn't get groundballs, doesn't get strikeouts, walk rate is way too high. Also, he's 25. Might be interesting out of the bullpen though.
  5. Player profiles don't always translate from the minors to the majors. Look at Pillar. The only thing consistent is that you have to hit in the minors just to have a chance to stick in the show.
  6. I guess it depends on what you mean by ‘up there,’ but I certainly agree that Ramírez and Trout are not the same caliber of baseball player. My point in writing this article was to suggest that Ramírez is, however, one of a relatively small number (perhaps 15-20?) of elite players, and does not appear to receive national coverage or interest commensurate with that status. That final point (relative coverage) is difficult to prove with any certainty because it’s difficult to pin down the terms, and so I can see a fair case that the article does not prove it with a particularly high level of certainty. Given that, I’d be perfectly happy if the article was only read as “Ramírez is very good.” lol
  7. Has Rian Watt wrote any informative pieces at Fangraphs? Here is his latest gem: https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/jose-ramirez-is-a-star/ Jose Ramirez is in fact, pretty good. It's not even analysis. Just telling everyone who reads fangraphs what they already know. This is the same guy who left Luis Castillo out of his article on the Reds future this past offseason. This guy in the comment section got downvoted to hell even though he is spot on: "Who doesn’t know that Jose Ramirez is a top star? Low quality article IMO, seemingly written for a low information audience. No serious data analysis other than a WAR leaderboard. The Trout-v-Ramirez map is tongue-in-cheek hopefully. There are plenty of high performers who have not received much notice as yet, but Jose Ramirez isn’t one of them." Fangraphs is cooked if they ever lose Jeff Sullivan IMO
  8. It's been debunked as an old picture. Fake News
  9. https://twitter.com/GideonTurk/status/996104426057236483?s=19 Vlad is in NYC. Called up?
  10. https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/meet-the-extraordinary-freddy-peralta/
  11. He doesn't throw hard and he's short which is why he never made any prospect lists. Lookings at brooksbaseball, he threw 89 fourseam fastballs in his first start (sat at 92 MPH), 8 curveballs and 1 changeup.
  12. Spanky has nudes of tercet?
  13. Or you know, we could have split Martin and D'Arnaud time to take the workload off both of them. Yes I realize we probably don't sign Martin with d'Arnaud Guys like Luke Maile, Salty, Miguel Montero, Navarro, Josh Thole combined for tons of negative fWAR between the past 3 or 4 seasons
  14. Epic Fail from fangraphs here. So many prospect websites missed on Chapman even though his talent was slapping everyone in the face. 4 fWAR in 488 PA
  15. I think you guys are missing the boat here. None of those players are stars but 1-2 win players on cheap contracts are assets. Probably could have helped knowing how god awful Anthopoulous was at filling out the backend of rosters.
  16. Cole throws 2 shutout innings with 4 strikeouts and gets the win. Serious fail from jaysfan2014 here.
  17. Morales hit 30 home runs last year and he gets no respect around here,
  18. Tebow has the baseball experience of a high school senior. I'd say he'll be top 100 on most midseason lists.
  19. So is Gaviglio going right back down after this game
  20. The fact that Tebow went from non baseball player to above average hitter in AA is pretty impressive. 130 wRC+ after tonight.. I bet he'll be called up this year, maybe September.
  21. How DARE someone post about a minor league player in the minor league thread. Holy f***!
