  1. I'd say we're better on paper than the Royals right now.
  2. You guys are looking at the dates of these tweets, right?
  3. AA should actually just go and take Shields for free, if the rumors are true.
  4. How is 1 guy the core of the farm? Cause I know you aren't talking about Boyd and Labourt.
  5. To be fair, the franchise has been FUBAR several times over the last 20 years without 1 legitimate WC contender. At least this time we have one. I don't like the value either, but it's nice to FINALLY have a legitimate contender. If only Stro was here too...
  6. Probably because he preferred San Diego.
  7. Apparently we cant extend him a QO
  8. "If Wacha is picked I throw things. He's impressed me less than any name guy in college. I swear I can hit him. " --thehurl
  9. Play that intro song again Baltimore, you f***ing dicks.
  10. Are you really faulting the guy for losing somebody to f***ing Apple of all companies?
  11. I've thought that myself. The two trades just seemed completely out of left field for him given what he'd been doing the years prior, making cost-effective signings and value-driven trades.
  12. Baseball is the only sport I'd take McCown's theories on seriously, so this is quite interesting, and frankly makes total sense from Rogers' perspective with the money being poured into baseball, the growing international appeal, their low brand value.
  13. Buck "You can't sneak a fastball by Colby Rasmus. It's impossible"
  14. Yeah I'm not so sure about that. Failed major leaguers and veterans are gonna be tougher outs than 75% of AA batters who probably won't even advance past the level.
  15. Suggesting we trade Bautista or Edwin this season is pretty dumb in itself don't you think? You're taking the position of the other extreme and it's frankly not a good idea.
  16. You're missing my point though. Cito retired in 2010. Pretty much the whole league up until that point was old school. There weren't nearly as many shifts as there are today. So I don't get why a hitting strategy focused on pulling the ball and a guy who supported it should be mocked when it was a perfectly viable hitting strategy for decades.
  17. And that makes him a moron? Defensive shifts didn't even become standard until a few years ago, after Cito and every other major league player/coach spent decades developing hitting philosophies that didn't require taking them into account. I still don't understand why he gets so much crap on this board. Focusing on pulling was a viable strategy for a long time.
  18. People still blowing Friedman here? His draft results since 2010 have been poor, and his major league team is now in last place with talk of trading Zobrist and Price.
  19. So he has the "Gary Denbo approach" then. How well did that work out? Or Mottolla's approach?
  20. You're calling him a dickhead? Have you read your own posts?
