Those comments remind me of Brad Mills. His last year with us he posted pretty good numbers in Vegas and led the PCL in K's. Of course we knew his stuff and we dismissed his numbers.
Boyd has better stuff I suppose, and it may look better in the BP.
I find it likely that he didn't want to give up anything good for Navarro (like a reliever) and felt that Gosewich was a suitable replacement. Not to mention that Navarro only has control for 1 year. Why throw away more valuable pieces that have more control when you are not going to contend?
