    Lincecum career over? edit: nope Bochy says the affliction is common in athletes, and Lincecum will rest for four or five days. It is not considered a career-threatening injury.

    Gomez > Pillar > Portobello > Valencia. Portobello/Valencia/Smoak would be a DH platoon which isn't quite efficient roster management.

    If we're going to get Gomez then it makes sense to part with Pompey. I'm not a fan of him so I'll keep one of the pitchers.

    it's a good move. I know everyone wants to take Hutch and Dickey out and put them to the pastures but you can't really do so after their last starts. Dickey you can't put in the BP, though Hutch you can demote. But Sanchez addresses an area that we can fix without giving up players.
