  1. To be honest, I'm just gla the kid is healthy and able to play regularly for really the first time since he was drafted.
  2. 6 multihit games in his last 10, in that stretch hitting .421/.522/.995. He's still striking out too much though and has only 1 extra base hit in that stretch.
  3. The Jays are making Rogers tens of millions every year and it's not even debatable really. That's a really uninformed comment.
  4. Let me pose a hypothetical since I don't know how highly regarded Dermoody was out if high school. I know the Pirates drafted him out of high school in 2009 in the 26th round, then again drafted by Colorado in 2011 in the 29th round, then again in 2012 by Arizona in the 23rd round. Arizona didn't sign him because his physical showed a partial UCL tear, so he went back for senior year. Did he ever seriously think about signing out of high school in order to start eating that pro coaching sooner? I know 26 th round in high school is like a 10 k bonus or whatever but still.
  5. No no, they were a fluke last year. This year they have an historic season from Davis carrying the team
  6. Sorry guys, jinxed it I guess. Zobrist had to be a dick and f*** things up
  7. Jared Cosart has a no hitter into the 7th in his major league debut tonight against the Rays
  8. They should make him bunt every AB u til he gets down 10 in a row.
  9. Not really a valid argument. Saying where they'd be in another division is pointless since they aren't in that division. Sure the Jays would probably be winning the NL west if they were in hat division facing those teams instead of the beasts in the AL East. But that doesn't mean anything sine the Jays are in the AL East. AA has to build a team that can contend in the toughest division in baseball, and in 4 years every step forward has been followed by one step back. Treading water
  10. He hasn't been getting results, but advanced metrics make the argument that regression to the mean is likely coming, but not to his ace-like self prior to the injury. It's just too bad it will be too late to really matter for the Jays in 2013
  11. Pretty much. Any undrafted high school or college players be signed for nothing but a plane ticket to Dunedin and the promise of a tryout.
  12. My fiancée, who knows about as much about baseball as your average African immigrant, (that's where she's from *******s, not meant as racist), pipes up the other day when Tabler is in one of his rambling statements of nothing... She says "does this guy ever say anything useful?"
  13. And a little more rain on the parade...
  14. It's easier to replace the production of position players than SP, or perhaps a better way to put it ... the downgrade of 1-2 position players is not as impact full as 1-2 starting pitchers. Usually the replacement position guys can do one aspect of the game well enough that if your pitching is healthy and good, you can overcome it.
  15. And when he strings 2 months worth of good starts together, the Jays might give a s***.
  16. Cuddyer... Yup there's a name the baseball world wants to see ...
  17. Only a few people give a rats dick about roster moves anyways, and only if it's a player worth mentioning.
  18. I prefer less clutter myself, but I see your point. To settle our differences, I propose a race around the world!
