  1. I take the completed opposite stance. This team needs to show something down the stretch to keep any kind of optimism into 2014. When expectations are high and a team fails miserably, apathy can set in very fast. The simple fact that this team has a hard on for taking high school pitchers who slide due to injury or who are rumoured to be incredibly hard signs should be all anyone needs to know to realize that more picks isn't necessarily a good thing.
  2. You're so full of it. Everyone knows there are no doctors in the DR
  3. Yeah not sure why the media is referencing this now, when the article is 4 years old
  4. Just a numbers crunch, but yeah, I agree with you. Bonifacio provides nothing to this team right now that isn't redundant. Speed off the bench or OF replacement? Davis. Mif and 3b IF 4 capable defensive players in Lawrie, Reyes, Izturis and deRosa. He's just not needed.
  5. Very interesting article: http://mlb.mlb.com/news/print.jsp?ymd=20090808&content_id=6316054&vkey=news_mlb&c_id=mlb
  6. Melky in the lineup today, batting 5th
  7. You kidding? There's many examples every year of that exact thing.
  8. Still think it's too early, he's one bad month from being at the bottom of the barrel again.
  9. Would be a good first step. It's not really as detrimental I think that some make it out to be, but to an athlete being paid ludicrous amounts of money to play a game, they should have more important things to worry about than what people say about them on twitter.
  10. Votto reached base tonight for the 30th straight game. #OBPmachine
  11. Sure looks that way
  12. Also goes without saying
  13. Goes without saying
  14. I'm off to Boston with my company at the end of the month, and the Sox are home to Seattle. I'm really hoping the King Felix is in line for a start when I'm there
  15. Atlanta is in the market for LH relief with only 1 lefty in the pen right now. Lots of options out there for them though
  16. I highl doubt it, but there's also the minor league portion of the rule 5 draft to worry about
  17. I believe so yes. Here's a tweet I sent him last year:
  18. Yessir, curve has been plus for a while but he slider is coming along nicely
  19. Expectations being high + underachieving ball club = much bigger feeling of failure
  20. Guys with guaranteed deals can still be optioned if they have options left.
  21. Knowing the Jays luck, this is the time they'd get aggressive, win the bidding war and have the guy blow out his shoulder in his first game.
  22. Think Happ is out of options after this year so he'd ave to up n some capacity or risk being picked off waivers
  23. I wish people would stop using Gomes aspect kind of benchmark or comparison. He had one decent stretch of 50 PA ths year, the rest as been garbage Nd over his last 17 games he has like a .400 OPS He's nothing to worry about having traded, especially with how Rogers has worked out so far. The shirty part of that trade was Aviles
