Agreed. There's lots of hype around him right but when you look deeper than ERA, he looks like a guy getting really lucky. Still walking lots of guys, going into deep counts more often than not.. but getting lots of weak contact as well. Tiring afte 70 pitches today itself says he's not ready for the majors. He needs at least another full year in the minors to just build up his stamina let alone continue to work on pitches and command. -

Tuiasosopo looks like a 3 outcomes guy. He takes his walks, 25+ % K rate (30% last year) and had some pop. Really small sample size to determine his true power though, he never hit more than 14 in a season throughout his minor league career -

It's a story about the scout and his daughter and their relationship, with baseball traditionalism spanking saber as the backdrop. They basically wrote it for saber guys to sound like complete idiots and old scouts as the messiah's of baseball -
They're clearly trying to drum up interest in baseball in Los Angeles, one of the biggest markets in all of sports

Simple, horrible player valuations and not willing to even come close to market value on free agents.

I hit RH in baseball but am LH in hockey and golf. My coach when I was very young saw me standing to hit LH and just turned me around to hit RH for whatever reason so that's how I learned to hit.

Look at the bright side folks, none of our pitchers were as bad as Quintana for the White Sox today. He gave up 9 runs in the 1st inning on 7 hits and 2 walks without even recording an out... and he's actually going to be in the Sox rotation this year!
