  1. Raps starting 2-15 shooting. JV 0-5 all in the paint, aeveryone else launching 3's or long 2's.... Awful Good boards though
  2. Won't take long either, home opener weekend series against the Yankees, we'll hear Buck and tabler gobble jeter's knob for three days straight.
  3. His rationale is horrid, but I'd take Jeter on my team any day of the week and twice on Sunday. I'd just put him at second.
  4. Agreed. As much he was an overrated defender, he was one of the best with the bat at the position in history. Should be first ballot Hall of Famer
  5. He's okay defensively but you don't even need to defend him, he's option 8 on offense with only 5 guys on the floor. The problem with Hansborough is usually fouls, he's so aggressive that he inevitably picks up more than his share and can't stay on the floor for long. He was good tonight though.
  6. I doubt it, I think it's just a matter of him not likely making the rotation out of spring so they don't want to pay a swingman 6 million straight up
  7. Part 2 of AA's Offseason is saved as a draft if you want to check it over. I will publish later on tonight.
  8. Also, think of the additional value Miggy would provide if he wasn't the third worst defender at 3b last year, ahead of only Michael Young and David Freese.
  9. Money in the game is shifting. Look at Freeman's extension and recent pitcher deals for arms that aren't even front or even mid rotation guys. These guys are enjoying the money flowing into the game from these regional tv deals, and the costs of signing even moderate talent is going up. This scares the hell out of me for the Jays since it's very clear AA is not interested in paying those kinds of prices to try and improve the team and recent history is showing that the talent development system is really suspect. Combine those two factors and the future looks pretty grim. You can't trade for everyone Alex and your farm system isn't good enough to make up for ignoring the free agent market as a way of acquiring talent. Sure, every year there will some guys out there that turn out to be bargains for a variety of reasons, but even then, there's no reason to think AA has eyes on these guys and even if he does... Waiting them all out isn't a viable strategy that will pay off every year.
  10. As son as they can find a way to tweak the system to benefit the big spending teams like the Yankees. And before people start with the "conspiracy" crap, just think about all the recent changes to the system and the types of teams it has helped.
  11. Well I'd didn't see this game but ... What can you say about that foul call? It's terrible, it would be like an umpire calling strike 3 on a ball that slipped out of the pitchers hand and was flung into the dugout with the bases loaded in a tie game in the bottom of the 9th with 2 out.
  12. I'll even take it a step further. A player is paid to make as few outs as possible.
  13. A valid point. However he's had 4 seasons to improve his eye, or his realization that some of the curveballs aren't strikes...and failed. He also sucks against the fastball, slider, and change. Pitchers know he chases so they don't throw him strikes. His swing rate on balls out of the strike zone has increased every year
  14. Wow. So much ignorance in one post.
  15. I know. But seriously, just because it isn't really a bannable thing to post, it's pretty ridiculous to drag it through all these other threads.
  16. With all due respect (admittedly...none), can you keep your Kalfus knob gobbling in the minors forum thread. Circle jerk to your heart's content there but f*** off in the rest of the forum already.
  17. That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Why give teams easy ways out of bad contracts?
  18. Jays would have developed him as a starter though, not a RP from the get-go.
  19. Not if they keep up this lazy effort. They started off great pounding it inside, then got the lead and suddenly nothing but mid to long 2's again....
  20. Oh my ever loving f***.... "When we need to go in the inetrnational market to sign a player. They signed off on (Aroldis) Chapman, OK. It was us that made the decision not to get Chapman. We didn't see him well in a workout, but they signed off on Chapman." Fired.
  21. He lost me after this ******** "You can only measure wins and losses. We're in it to win. We're not in it to just measure ourselves in pure economics." And that was the second, third and fourth line out of his mouth. Then... Later on "We're in this thing as a business. We don't apologize for it. We run this as a business. We're not in the business to lose money. But we're not in the business to make money either."
  22. Sign: Arroyo Acquire: Franklin Trade: Santos
  23. Berti has 31 steals in 46 games, 9 CS and a .425 OBP with 30 walks to just 13 K... What level would this be the equivalent of... Low A maybe?
