  1. Was that idiot talking about me? This is why the ignore function is needed. Saying you don't like his game and he should be taking it to the basket more doesn't mean I don't think he's useful, but he's settling for long range jumpers as a primary option rather than using that as the second or third option. He actually gets a ton of foul calls when he does go to the rack, so go there more...
  2. Terrible act to put on a football show when your main demographic is male. Whoever set that up should have been fired for suggesting it
  3. That's one area I have no knowledge on whatsoever, how the NBA cap system works...
  4. I think when this is what we have to deal with, the FO f***ed up and nobody should be happy about the situation, because it comes down to which pile of s*** stinks slightly less.
  5. The more I watch this team, the more I don't link DeRozan's game. Long two after long two with the occasional drive to the basket, the plus there being he does draw fouls. He does hit those shots though, but I'd much prefer him to be far more aggressive going to the basket and using the mid to long range two as the way to keep the defenders honest, rather than his primary choice. He coughs up the ball because he can't dribble for s*** in a crowd. Just like the final play last night, he loses his dribble 5 or 6 times every game going into the lane. I like Amir's game, he plays good D, rebounds well and has a good touch at the hoop, though I think he'd be better off the bench where he could go at 100 percent for short spurts rather than trying to play starters minutes where he just goes invisible for long stretches. They need to use Ross more. His use in the offense is basically "stand in the opposite corner of where DeRozan is and just stay there, only move if something breaks down and we need to dump it out late in the shot clock." JV still a very big work-in-progress defensively, there's time he just looks lost. Love the O though, and love his willingness to be physical. And Lowry is exactly what this team needs - get this guy re-signed.
  6. That was a disaster first half. DeRozan, JV and Amir were all playing soft on D and they weren't getting good looks, they looked dead tired for pretty much the entire half. THe refs beat them into the ground with awful foul calls, and when you start the second quarter with Stone, Novak, Salmons, DeRozan and Hayes - that's just trouble
  7. I don't think ST would be much fun, maybe as a test for some of the bonus options though to see how they work. There's so much turnover of players in a ST game...
  8. JV still has a lot to learn defensively, so being able to watch and learn from Hayes is a good thing. I agree though, a few more minutes a game wouldn't kill him. The refs just kill him with sophomore fouls in a lot of games so sometimes it's just a matter of being in foul trouble that keeps him off the floor
  9. Gotta remember though he was not even the third scoring option on most plays, Derozan, JV and Lowry are all ahead of him in the pecking order on most plays, and when he gets into quick foul trouble like all 2nd year players do since the refs in the NBA are like umps in baseball except worse for veteran bias... he loses time. If Demar is out for any length of time with this foot thing, I bet he shuffles pretty quick near the top of the scoring options list with that performance last night.
  10. Yep
  11. My thoughts exactly. Ross is huge, and Griffin is just a pleasure to watch anytime for the Clippers. I really doubt the Raptors win this because I think down the stretch the more elite talent will win out, but this game is phenomenal. This is the video you show people when you showcase the nba
  12. The prototypical defense-speed CF with a hit tool that leaves a lot to be desired
  13. It's the same type of team as Oakland has been running out for the past few years. Couple of stars, and the rest of the team is built of guys who may not have bigtime skills and talent, but they don't have weaknesses.
  14. If that's the rotation of arms in AAA, then either 1 of Walden/Jenkins would likely be the long man, and the other would just be used as a AA starter.
  15. I wasn't aware there was an hardcore porn offseason...
  16. At the start of the offseason... Bogaerts, Sano, Springer, R. Montero, Alcantara, Soler, Mason Willams, and wherever Danny Salazar and Zunino would be if they were was still prospects.
  17. As long as they're all on the field. They have just as many health concerns as the Jays, if not more
  18. The Jays need to decide what they are going to be about. Either be a draft/development system like St Louis - where you still have the ability to retain key pieces if you choose, or; Become big spenders and actually make yourselves players in the free agent game Don't start one way, then go half-assed into another and stand pat at the first sign of adversity
  19. You're correct, I pointed that out earlier in the offseason. It's atrocious.
  20. Should we start the countdown to the Rays signing Capuano?
  21. did you look at the leaderboards? Cuz 10-15 would put him as one the top 2-4 qualified defensive second basemen in all of baseball in pretty much any given year, sometimes the #1. That's lofty expectations.
  22. Semantic arguments are awesome. It's costing the Yankees 175 million dollars over 7 years to have Tanaka.
  23. Read this: http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/the-fangraphs-uzr-primer/ then this: http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=9807&position=2B Scroll down to advanced fielding. See his UZR and UZR 150 Now, looks at leaderboards at 2B over the past any number of years and arrive at the conclusion that Goins playing at last year's level of defense is not going to happen. If you come to any other conclusion, then the force is not strong with you.
