  1. THis is a fine idea as long they can throw the fastball for strikes and let the offspeed pitches play off it.
  2. He really does. I hope they give Thole the boot and go with Kratz.
  3. Wants and needs have a funny way of never matching up.
  4. I'm afraid I have no such conflict. His posts are pointless, pedantic, intentionally contrary and full of his own inflated sense of self worth. It's like having another version of grant.
  5. Thanks for posting, but not a whole lot of anything we haven't heard before.

Unless they're kickstarting a rebuild on the fly, that's the only reason I can think of. A Kessler move now seems certain

And why does Florida want him? Not like they're going to the playoffs anytime soon.

I get the Fasth and Bryzgalov deals, but Luongo to Florida makes no sense to me.
  9. ROFL at Sullivan "Can't tell if serious."
  10. I'll care when he adds impressive control and/or command
  11. Now we just need Wakefield to be the minor league roving pitching instructor and we'll know for sure AA is trolling the s*** out of us.
  12. Having a knuckleball swingman wouldn't be the worst idea in the world. He'd be capable of pitching more innings and more often than your typical guy. Didn't the Red Sox do that with Wakefield a few years ago?
  13. Rectum? Damn near killed him!
  14. Yeah I would think so, he was Frank Viola Jr. so it stands to reason the next in line would be Frank Viola III
  15. despite that, what you said about Happ was correct.
  16. Probably anytime Hurl talks to women half his age, followed by a drink thrown in his face.
  17. The Dickey effect might be lessened if the entire rotation is full of knuckleballers.... Maybe AA thinks standing pat and not improving your team while signing minor league knuckleballers is the new market inefficiency?
  18. I can't even imagine what kind of context would make that GIF make sense to me
  19. Exactly. Happ's lack of innings likely won't be the result of injury, it'll be the result of him being an awful pitcher who throws 100 pitches through 4-5 innings far more often than not since he can't throw strikes.
  20. I think most will agree that clubhouse chemistry is important, but you need talent first. You don't build for chemistry.
  21. I see what you're saying, but realistically, what can Walker due with a 90 year old trick pitcher, Mark Buehrle who is what he is, scrubs like Rogers, Ortiz, Laffey, Wang ... and then a ton of injuries to Hutch, Drabek, Johnson, Morrow? When those guys are healthy and pitching, we'll see what Walker is actually capable of doing with their development.
