    I agree , but we've seen hundreds of neighbourhood plays where the guys foot is just as far off but they still get the call...it was just too obvious this time.

    Buck can say whatever he wants about Dickey having control of the knuckler, but it's complete ********. All he knows is that he's throwing it towards the catcher. Everything else is up to the baseball gods and how short the fences are.

    I think he just had a terminology mixup. They won't lose a year of control, but he burns his first option year and he could be Super 2 eligible with 4 arbitration years instead of three if he's up for the rest of this year and all of 2015 and 2016.

    Why is Buck giving credit to Ross and Washington to Melky being retarded and swinging at suit all over the place? There wasn't anything especially nasty about his pitches, Melky just got swing happy and chased terrible pitches to get himself into defensive swing mode rather than being 3-0 and hunting a mistake.

    That's simply due to the current love-in with Francisco. They'll run Lawrie at second and Francisco at third until he turns back into a pumpkin. Three catchers + Tolleson and Pillar is how AA rolls.

    As much as his career is likely over there no,point in releasing him when they still owe him 7.5 million for next year. He not taking anyone's roster spot, and if by some miracle they figure out what's wrong and can correct it, you don't want to be the team paying him that kind of money to be in another org. But the millisecond he's taking a spot away from someone with a legit chance at contributing... He gone.
