  1. Sp sucked, hitting has sucked, and the pen has so far sucked.... Really hard to see a comeback forming
  2. Honestly, didn't see it, that's why I put in the hypothetical
  3. Went through this already in the goins thread.... He's not getting hugely "unlucky" for his batted ball profile. You just don't want to believe the numbers. The numbers say he's maybe 3 hits unlucky on the season, and would have something like a .210 avg with a normalized babip.
  4. Yes it's likely that it will, but he'll have to actually make better contact first.
  5. His line drive rate is 12.2%. Of his 5 line drives he has 3 hits. Which is .600 babip. The avg babip on liners is .700 but thats impossible to attain on 5 line drives. Let's say that last one was a liner, then he'd have a . 500 babip and you could make the case he's been " unlucky " and should have 1 more hit. Hardly enough to justify a narrative of "quite a few well struck balls for outs"
  6. I posted something similar to this a while back, saying that young pitchers basically aren't allowed to give their arms a break anymore. Of course, coming from Dr. Andrews it carries a lot more weight.
  7. I disagree. I think the line of thinking that young players that are stressing the s*** out of their ligaments in their formative years and thus having them break more often is a pretty logical thought. Not sure how you'd prove it unless you followed a huge number of kids from the time they were 12 to 25 and compare the injury numbers on some kids who didn't throw the breaking stuff vs those who do. Problem is, how are you ever going to find kids that exclusively throw fastballs before college... It's practically unheard of now.
  8. Jose thought he was being crafty, after seeing those double steals off the Jays in the past few games. Problem is, Jose sucks at base running. Zaun made a good point though, if Jose has that constant green light thing, the jays bench should have given him the red light signs in that situation to prevent him from trying to be crafty. Yes,... I know i said Zaun is right... I feel sick already
  9. Sox must have a man in Red in the outfield stands stealing signs.
  10. Peavy has it going tonight, this is going to be a long night
  11. Could never trade him and his contract this early in the season.
  12. Peavy really hitting the edges tonight well so far
  13. People couldn't seriously expect his 93% strand rate to hold up...
  14. Do you see that Rivera? Ball in the air already back towards the IF and the runner is stopped at third? Not waved around into an obvious out at the plate?
  15. To be fair, Zaun thinks avg against is an advanced stat.
  16. He's just looking at this years 27 PA sample size. You know... Reliable data for Buck
  17. Hey look, Napoi not swinging at borderline pitches until he gets to two strikes... Takes a walk.... f***ing revolutionary
  18. Swing at s***** pitches, you won't see anything but.... Sure you'll get the odd mistake and may get something done a few times a week, but that half inning was probably the single worst half inning I've seen from jays hitters this year. Looked like they were guessing ...and guessing very poorly
  19. What the s*** is this.... Swing at strikes boys...

  21. It was written in November. And then December, January, February, March and now April. AA had 5 months to upgrade at these positions and sat around waiting for prices to drop on free agents, it never happened and now he's up s*** Greek without a paddle.
