  1. That's easy, anyone who doesn't like RBIs
  2. f*** this. HANG THE HIVE FROM THE NEAREST YARDARM
  3. Sorry...who?
  4. At the risk of sounding Grant-esque, you're ignoring the context of Alford's situation. While it's technically true that Alford will have completed 5 years in the minor leagues after 2016, he's only had about 1.5 seasons worth of plate appearances over that 5 years - mainly due to playing football in the first 3 years. Taking that into account it's actually even more impressive that he's advanced as far as he has Since giving up football, he's had pretty much his entire 1.5 years of plate appearances in the past 2 seasons, with the missing time only due to s***** injury luck. If you told me that a guy with only 900ish plate appearances in the minors would be dominating in the Arizona fall league during his age 21 season...i'll take that any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Judging him the same as a true 5 year minor leaguer is willfully ignorant
  5. Not sure I can remember the last time that the majority of their top-end propects were bats either
  6. There's no way you could allow international players at 16, but others at 18. That could never work
  7. I'd rather see the Cubs win, not because Cleveland beat the Jays. .. but because I'd like that franchise's fanbase to have something, considering the last time they were even in a World Series game was 1945, and theres probably very few of their fans left alive that saw that.
  8. I think she was the sameone who incessantly repeated "AJ Burnett is a .500 pitcher" as the reason he wasn't worth signing
  9. This year's inning total was also the highest of his career, even though he was a starter in the minors. As a starter the most innings he ever threw in a minor league season was 42.1 due to injury. Also keep in mind he's already 2 years into into his 6 years of control, so trying him as a starter would probably take 2-3 seasons just to get him to around 200 innings and by then he's got 1 year left, assuming his helath holds up, which is no guarantee giving his prior surgery and low innings totals for the past 6 seasons. There's too many factors working against him to even bother taking the chance at transitioning him to a starter. Keep him in the pen and let him go until his arm breaks again.
  10. Yes, and it was last years slash line for Alford. Ranking him #1 at the time this list was complied was very defensible.
  11. He would still have the pen as a fallback if his starter results aren't encouraging. I don't think there's much of a downside in starting him at AAA
  12. Yup, but Biagini could also start in AAA if Liriano is the 5th starter out of the gate. Since Biagini spent the full year on the 25 man roster, he can be optioned next year.
  13. Man this isn't even truly premium velocity, he must have some good deception.
  14. Bad AB. Filthy pitches but he's gotta know he's not getting a fastball there
  15. Edwin won't see a fastball unless it's way outside or way high.
  16. Looks like Donaldson just didn't see those well. He was behind every one and its not like they were 100 mph.
  17. Shoot, Donaldson behind on those heaters. Shorten up
  18. Amazing what happens when umps call balls... balls
  19. Check swing strikeout on a pitch on the outside corner, which immediately sends him into a rage about the strike zone
  20. He's been a really good pen arm. I think the more interesting question is do they transition him back to a starting role next season? He threw 130 inning as a starter in AA in 2015, so it wouldn't be unheard of. As a 5th starter he could easily hit 170 innings with starts skipped here and there. Estrada, Happ, Sanchez, Stroman and Biagini would be your 5 and be inexpensive
  21. It's do or die, can't really save flexibility when you have 5 outs left in your season
  22. Statcast on Navarro would be embarrassing. Single digit speed
  23. I don't understand why you wouldn't pinch run for the slowest runner in baseball
