  1. 39 points scored and 58 given up in the first half against the Bulls. This team is so out of it right now
  2. I dunno, I think having hotshot offensive catching prospects isn't really something to be all that thrilled with, unless they can actually provide positive defensive value. Most good offensive catchers transition to other positions pretty early in their careers to save their knees anyways so hoping for the next Pudge to come along just seems to be such a longshot that's us not worth focusing on IMO. Get all the plus defenders, framers and throwers you can find and hope to hell one of them develops to be halfway passable with the bat.
  3. Kevin Pillar was getting drafted at 22 and playing rookie ball. Nobody had any opinion on him at the time.
  4. High floor, low ceiling that's already played in the bigs at 22 is nothing to sneeze at. Good defense, speed tool, CF....... seems to see his results crap out due to a weird swing and not so good plate discipline matched with good contact. Basically... He's Kevin Pillar at 22, when Pillar wasn't Pillar until he was 25. He still has a chance to workout his swing issues to get better
  5. Once he's designated for assignment, he has to get released if he's not able to be traded in the DFA window. That's how it works. The only way the Jays would have been able to bring him back is by him agreeing to re-sign to a minor league deal with invite to ST, which he's unlikely to do without at least checking around the league for other options first

    Love this.
  7. The sarcasm is strong in this thread....
  8. I don't mind a fight when it starts organically out of some dirty hit or some other illegal s*** that deserves a response, but staged fights off a whistle between the two guys that maybe get 5-10 shifts a game total is garbage. Thankfully that part is already on the decline
  9. Just tell me why they had Derozan acting as the PG for the last possessions instead of Lowry.... ffs Casey
  10. I'm sure you'll be able to settle out of court with King with no admission of guilt if you give him a few bags of Cheetohs and a hooker.
  11. I'm trying how to rationalize Albies at 35 by BP... I know his power is below average for HR but even if he hits 10 per season with his hit and speed tools he'll be well above average overall with the bat.
  12. While I think you're probably right that baseball fans are not being turned off gy long marathon games, that's not what Manfred is concerned about. He's concerned with attracting the next generation of baseball fans. TheRe is absolutely nothing wrong with trying it rule changes in the low minors to see how thye play out before even thinking about trying it at the major league level
  13. That's not the reason it's only worth 2 points. Blocking a PAT and returning it the length of the field is only worth 2 points tothe defense because the most points the offense could have scored on that play is .. 2 points.
  14. You and me both Hurl. I love it. Leave the playoffs alone, but in the regular season... no problem at all.

The entire balance of power in the league has shifted back to the East, whereas the last 5+ years it's rested in the West. My Blues were about to take the next step this year, then their goaltenders forgot how to stop the puck. Really only Edmonton and Minnesota have taken steps forward in the West this year, but neither are threats to the Cup. I predict Anaheim vs Washington finals. This is the year that Ovechkin gets to drink from the Mug
  16. Marginally worse, maybe 2-3 wins worse, unless we get fortunate with health again which could bring it up to even. If we get bad health luck, we'll be lucky to sniff .500 With this team and it's age it's easy to see anywhere from 75 to 90+ wins.
  17. Cosentino is happy where he is,doing junior hockey which is where his knowledge is used best. f*** Barker... guy is a complete waste of TV time
  18. What's really awesome is like 20% of those HRs were against Baltimore
  19. The tried to frame it like he was trying to clear it, but when you look at video it's pretty clear he just had a brain fart moment. And Laine scored the go ahead goal for the opponent in that game, Edmonton.
  20. Patrick Laine scored in his own net off a rebound earlier this year.
  21. Shocking, another awful start with garbage shooting and terrible defense....
  22. I see Embiid eating JV for lunch
  23. CoJo was amazing tonight. Really impressive
