  1. I think the balk is the correct call. The ball came out of his hand at the tail end of his wind up and he went through the rest of the motion and the ball didn't get "thrown" towards the plate. Edit. Rule was clarified on the broadcast, was the right call.
  2. A fangraphs article for tomorow happened.

I watched the replay of the game, that was a pretty weird sequence of events. First, ovechkin gives the old 2 hand chop to Crosby as he heading to the net, then his stick clips him in the head and he starts to fall, right into a cross check in the dome. Hope he doesn't have to retire due to this, that's what... 4th or 5th concussion?
  4. It's pretty simple. Their top 3 are better than the Raps top 3 and it's even particularly close. Raps might win 1 or 2 games if they play their best basketball ever and the Cavs go cold for a night. Casey is also a slave to Carroll and Patterson, when he should be running with Tucker and Powell.
  5. Splitting hairs a bit since it's the same level but he's in the MWL, not the SAL.
  6. Any word on why Pentecost has still only caught like 1.5 games?
  7. Didn't even bother watching after the 1st quarter. He can talk about about matching energy all he wants, they can't match the talent and that's all that matters.
  8. Did he hit the glove on the swing or on the follow through?
  9. Paint Judge green and you wouldn't need CGI for the next Incredible Hulk movie. f*** this guy is huge
  10. It really should be to be honest.
  11. Is it just me or does it look like Travis has closed up his stance even more than usual?
  12. 7 straight pitches on the outer half, christ try something inside just to change his eyes. He's leaning so far out...
  13. Put hit this way, not scoring on that wild pitch was not a massive error. It wasnt a guarantee and it didn't even make it to them on deck circle. He could very well have been DOA even with an instant break. Bautista's mind numbing stupidity and inability to adjust to anything was a much bigger problem.
  14. Yeah, the one change so far this year is like a 4% change in swing rate at balls out of the zone, and a few % more contact on strikes in relating to his career averages. It's not enough to explain this massive inflation of numbers. I wonder if his exit velocity is any different
  15. No kidding. The entire stadium knew a slider was coming.
  16. Bautista guessing again, he saw 1 fastball out of 6 pitches in this AB yet still guessing fastball everytime. That last one didn't even start as a strike.
  17. Nah, they'll steamroll the Celtics or Wizards. Might be 1 or 2 good games though
  18. The Raptors will have to play amazing and the Cavs have to play badly for the Raptors to win this series. It just won't happen. The talent difference between the two teams is huge, despite the regular season records being close.
  19. Morales Made this pick after game start but prior to the Jays hitting. Understand if the pick won't count, got in late.

Kinda cool scene in Edmonton last night. The mic stopped working for the American national anthem and they couldn't get it working again so the crowd sang the American anthem instead.
  21. I'll be optimistic and say Cleveland in 6.
  22. The Nationals have more runs scored in the last 6 games(73) than the Royals have the entire season so far(63).
  23. Anyone else notice that Jake Thomas has an obp of .532 and a walk rate north of 30%? Sure he's old for Lansing, but damn.
