Will never forget the absolute monster HR he hit of TJ Zoinks in Spring Training 2020, was down there with the wife for her conference and caught a game between the Jays and Pirates in Bradenton. I'd never heard of him before the game but started talking with the Pirates fans and asked them who they were paying attention to, every single one of them said Oniel Cruz. When he murdered the baseball like 500 feet over the CF restaurant on the concourse, I knew why. Vlad Jr hit a frozen rope down the LF line that day, Bo homered and Pearson threw 2 innings and looked amazing. It was a great game to watch.

That's just rude. Cruz has more talent in his shoelaces that Tapia has in his entire family lineage.

You make solid points. There's the old school type of thinking where the manager has to be a hard ass, has to yell at the players, drill into them they have to do everything 1 way... my way or the highway and if you cant get with the program... etc etc etc. That way of managing is dead. Why? Because it had no flexibility. The manager was managing one way, for everyone, regardless of the range of personalities on the roster. Some personalities repond to that kind of thing. Some don't. THen there's the new school, contructive feedback. Well, that was good, but here's how we might be able to do better. Lets give that a shot. - some personalities respond to that kind of thing. Some don't. The best managers, leaders, in any business are the ones who can communicate effectively the way each personality needs to be communicated to. If you kick everyone in the ass and never offer support, you'll lose a massive amount of the room. If all you ever do is give people cookies and say theyre doing fine, youll lose a massive amount of the room. You have to be able to do both and everything in between. Charlie seems like the "Give everyone a cookie" kind of manager and couldnt find a way to be the other guy to those who needed it.

There's plenty of things wrong with him playing. If he starts 2 games out of 7 ... yeah, okay. But 5 or 6 out of 7 is a joke. He brings nothing to the table offensively, defensively .... the only plus to him is running from 1st or 3rd or 2nd to home ... so essentially he's a pinch runner. Too bad Zimmer is a better pinch runner and a better defender. I'd rather them punt Tapia into the sun, keep Zimmer and bring up someone else to fill the time until Atkins can land a real left handed bench bat. They finally cut bait with Morontoyo, maybe they're ready to do the same with Goldilocks.

It was a productive 3rd out rather than being at first I guess, but there were a lot of pitches there that he should have spit on, not swung at just to foul off. Some were borderline sure, but others were very clear balls. Just sayin, he made some really bad swing decisions there and the only real positive was Wheeler throwing more pitches. I’d rather have seen him walk to 1st

Sure, but you said those concerns only came after the closed door meeting that the players had a few games ago. No chance that's when the brass found out. it would have been weeks before that they knew there was a problem, and were giving him a shot to right the ship.

All-Star outfielder Andrew Benintendi, first baseman Hunter Dozier, second baseman Whit Merrifield, outfielder Michael A. Taylor and outfielder Kyle Isbel all will miss the trip. Ditto for catchers MJ Melendez and Cam Gallagher and pitchers Brad Keller, Brady Singer and Dylan Coleman. Guess that closes the door on a Benintendi trade, he's one of the guys not vaxxed.
