  1. Dynamite drop-in sir.
  2. Hey, at least the first tradeof the offseas isn't boring. Gotta love the passion it's stirring up
  3. I dont disagree, like I said in another thread earlier, i wasnt thrilled about the return either. Trading a 130 WRC+ OF for a reliever and a "What if ..." doesnt make a whole lot of sense in itself. BUT, the salary relief also has value, as long as they do something smart with it. Like signing Nimmo. Lets say they do sign Nimmo... then you look at the more overall transaction as Teoscar + slightly more money and you get Nimmo, Swanson and lotto ticket. Outfield Defense improves SIGNIFICANTLY, the offense likely doesnt suffer and the pen gets better.
  4. Nah, not awful. Salary relief to spend on someone else has value beyond a straight OF for reliver + lottery ticket scenario. Swanson also has 3 years of control. You're right though, without some sort of corresponding move - if you look at the trade in a vaccum, it does seem gross.
  5. Also got a lottery ticket pitcher, and payroll relief to spend on Nimmo. Should the Nimmo signing happen, that kind of even's things out.
  6. The upside is real for sure. He's a strikeout machine that can't throw strikes consistently.
  7. Well, one of my offseason predictions has come true already - Teo being traded Nimmo signing and a catcher trade would make it the trifecta.
  8. If this clears a way to add Nimmo... I love it. Swanson is 1st year Arb eligible in 2023. 3 years of team control left. Here's his Statcast page from last season:
  9. Teoscar for Swanson + Adam Macko Seems light to me. Swanson is legit but Macko is kind of a lottery ticket. starting Position player for reliever + Lottery ticket just rubs me the wrong way
  10. 9:52am: Seattle is sending right-handed reliever Erik Swanson and pitching prospect Adam Macko to the Blue Jays in the trade, Divish reports.
  11. 9:49am: TSN’s Scott Mitchell tweets that the Blue Jays will be getting bullpen help in return for Hernandez. Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times tweets that known trade candidate Chris Flexen is not a part of this deal. Can't be JUST pen help, there's gotta be more to it than that.
  12. I always hate seeing the initial tweets without the return being known. Drives me crazy with anticipation! Also, I dont want Flexen at all, dude cant miss bats to save his friggin life.
  13. Why the f*** would Milwaukee add Jon Singleton.... yes THAT Jon Singleton to their 40 man to protect him from the rule 5 draft?
  14. THat puts the Jays at exactly 40 active players, looks like they won't be selecting anyone in the Rule 5 draft unless a trade happens between now and then.
  15. Zimmer and Tapia officially have been DFA'd. The Blue Jays have designated outfielders Bradley Zimmer and Raimel Tapia for assignment. Toronto also released left-hander Foster Griffin. In corresponding moves, the Jays selected the contracts of righty Yosver Zulueta and infielders Addison Barger, Spencer Horwitz and Orelvis Martinez.
  16. Yeah, trading him isnt the end of the world, it wouldnt really surprise me, but non-tendering him would just be patently dumb.
  17. Why non-tender a 2-3 win player that's cheap and will likely see a wee bit of a boost with the shift rules next season. He's basically the left handed version of Whit Merrifield, with slightly less defensive prowess. Biggio is a guy you defiinitely dont want to ditch for nothing if you dont have to.
  18. Might be 2025 but yeah, cannot wait until the ump shows are a thing of the past and the last out of the World Series gets decided by a ball/strike challenge.
  19. Getting closer.... cant wait!
  20. I don’t see why Pittsburgh would even looking at moving them. While they will get progressively more expensive the next few years, they have plenty of room to keep both and still be in the 100 million salary range as a team, which they were at not too long ago.
  21. You’re forgetting that the player has to be willing as well. Vlad should have been able to get in near perfect shape after 2 off seasons, but he hasn’t. Losing weight is honestly not that hard once a person figures out what works for them. But they have to want to
  22. Pudge was never round though, he was stocky and thick, but he was built like a short brick shithouse.
  23. Because when he throws sooooooo much s*** at the wall, something is bound to stick once in a while.
  24. I didn’t notice any real difference in his body. I know both he and Vlad were working on that s*** and there was the announcement of how much Vlad had lost, but I’m skeptical as to the real numbers. Vlad and Kirk both got slower in relation to league average, not exactly indicative of significant weight loss.
