Meh, seemed right. It was cold, had just given up back to back hits, his fastball velo was 88 mph (last year avg was 95) and they were up 6 runs. Was as good a time as any. Hopefully the velo thing was just a factor from the cold

Dont say that. The Rays would take him, teach him a curveball in 5 minutes and make him their next unhittable starter.

Youre right, and its no so much that he's getting wood on the baseball and just hasnt found the holes, he's swinging and missing regularly at 88-90 mph cookies. That's the concerning part.

Im guessing he was like one year before Kris Bryant? EDIT.... Yep, Jake was 2009 along with Aaron Loup and Drew Hutchison, and that 2010 draft year still has Chad Green, Kris Bryant, and Thor still kicking in the bigs too. That was a pretty great draft year for talent.
