  1. Luis Robert Jr as a trade target. Fits all the needs the Jays want, plus is cost controlled for the next 2 seasons for sure at 9.5m- possibly 4 if they pick up 20M options for 2026 and 2027. Feasible with what the Jays have for prospects to acquire? Would the Chi Sox even entertain moving him?
  2. I could eat that whole thing... and then die happy immediately after
  3. I'd let him sit in AA a bit longer. I'd want to get him to the point where the plate discipline AND the power are consistently showing up at the same time before declaring victory at AA. Only 4 extra base hits from June 10th to today. Plate discipline is incredibly improved though. The last thing the Jays need is another 80 raw power guy slapping singles the other way when he should be killing spectators in the Left Field stands with moonshots.

  5. Sometimes ya gotta make a guy fail to get him to realize what he has to fix. It's risky, but in this case it seems to have worked so far.
  6. Depends. Im sure some quotes could be found from some that might be interpreted as WS threats. They have been annointed one of the great organizations in baseball by some.
  7. They're hitting a bit of a speedbump right now. Since the Jays series they're 6-10 with a -30 run differential. On the season their run differential is worse than the Jays now and only 4 runs better than Boston. Regression has come. The parade is currently on hold.
  8. Lol, this line from Romano is ridiculous. 13 pitches. 2 4-seamers. 11sliders, 9 swings at the sliders…8 of them whiffs.
  9. Utter filth from Romano. Untouchable tonight
  10. Vladdy with an oppo taco! Ltbf +2+1

  12. He's absolutely on par or better than Pillar prime. He's a tier below KK
  13. I know Ive fallen for some of these parody accounts in the past, but this one was way too obvious LOL
  14. Running game is more controlled by the pitchers anyways. I wonder how front offices measure game calling abilities. I think for the Jays it feels like Jansen calls a better game, but i would have no idea how that is is quantified.
  15. The problem with Espinal getting in was that he still wasnt very good and didn't deserve to be there, not that he actually had a big first half. He had a big first month, then went MIA, then a big June. And big .... i mean big for him. His slash line when he was selected as a replacement was .271/.322/.394 with 6 HRs. Wow, what an amazing performance worthy of celebration as one of the stars of the season. I would absolutely rather see a guy who legit had a great 1st half out of nowhere in the all star game over a veteran who's just getting in because of a season he had 3 years ago, and just been kind of above average since.
  16. Yup, this is why I don't take it seriously, because obviously MLB doesn't.
  17. yup, though that makes a catcher's arm and pop times even more important, as does a pitcher's delivery motion when it comes to trying to stop the running game. Once robo umps start being a thing, and it is 100% coming, framing goes away and everything about catcher's defense will become about all the unmeasuables and their arms. If anything right now, the Jays and other ors should be drilling every single one of their pitchers to minimize their delivery times with runners on base, and making pop times and throwing the centre of everything as a catcher. Pitching deliveries probably being even more important.
  18. Dont let his LF numbers fool you, he's elite in CF. Its just that Kiermaier is beyond elite to the point of ridiculous.
  19. Yeah, its really hard to say whos even available when it comes to bench bats and relivers that fall into "controllable" territory. Its way easier to identity the soon to be FAs as potential targets. I still like Bednar as a target with 3 years left of control after this season. Problem, is Pittsburgh might actually think they have a shot in the next 3 seasons given the dumpster fire of a division and he might not be available. Same with guys like Classe in Cleveland, or any higher end reliever on any central division team.
  20. Sure. But ya cant do it with everyone, nor do you have any idea if they tried to and there were no takers. So whining about a non move is stupid when you have 0 clue of anything behind the scenes. Stuff like this is just hindsight "they should have forseen everything that could possibly go wrong and make sure they took steps to prevent that at some arbitraty point in the past that would assuredly make things better for today"
  21. Who, and what are you giving up to get him? Are you thinking a guy like Cease, Giolito? Jays need starter depth, 2 Pen arms (IMO) and a solid bench bat.
  22. Yeah, I like seeing the Ks but Manoah shouldn’t be walking 3 guys in 5 innings at AA. Higher strikeouts can be predicted by just being more free swingers in AA than the majors. Command is still likely an issue.
