    I think Pearson just cemented his roster spot. You can't put a guy throwing like this in AAA.

    They have Horwitz listed at 6 feet which seems kind of absurd when you watch him. Orelvis Martinez listed at 6'1 is at least 4 inches taller.

    I'll take Chapman every day and twice on Sunday. The guy is a platinum glove calibre fielder and has lost very little, if anything.

    I read that 26.5 million Canadians watched the Olympic gold medal game in Vancouver (78% of all people, let alone televisions) so it's not unheard of, but great for the WBC!

    I never said he should be DFA'd. I questioned how well he fits on the 26 man roster when everyone is healthy.

    What kind of situations do you guys see Lukes being used? He's the 4th best CF on the roster, decent speed but not a burner, probably a mediocre left handed bat. He was almost certainly a better fit on last year's team. I'm just not seeing how he would get used at all.

    The NHL used to do it every 4 years and the only holdup was negotiating with the IOC. Since MLB kind of owns thr WBC, I don't see any good reason why it shouldn't or couldn't be mid-season. The same players who actually give a damn about their nation would still participate and you might even get a few others.

    I don't see the fit for Lukes. How would you envision him being utilized? A right handed bat seems far more useful in my opinion.

    I'd like to see a right handed bat added as other teams pare down their rosters. While I believe that Lopez has a future here, we also have an open 40 man spot and a great opportunity to add depth.

    I understand what you are saying and it's usually correct, but I don't think you're taking into account just how far away that runner was. He probably doesn't even slide if the third baseman can field it with a foot on the bag.

    It's absolutely the right play every time. He's out by 6 feet with a halfway accurate throw. It's honestly a fairly routine play and cost us a run.
