  1. This. Also, keep up people, I’m locked out of the apps and couldn’t bet.
  2. Lefty lefty I still wouldn’t have pitched to Harper. Worked out
  3. Wheeler you f***ers!!
  4. I was just thinking how similar Rojas feels to Varsho
  5. Like small ball there.
  6. Shut up and watch the game
  7. -110 now Philly. I’d still take it
  8. This argument was dead until they wanted to rehash it.
  9. You’ve already waffled on this issue, so you shouldn’t be chiming in. There’s no debate that there is no way of guaranteeing an outcome in baseball. The question is, if it’s better to have a lineup 1-9 that’s steady but without any major threat, or a lineup that’s very top heavy, and worse in the back half. If Team A has the better wRC+ in the regular season, does that mean they have a better likelihood of performing in the post-season
  10. These classical lawyer types aren’t innovative. Theyre brainy, but they’re wired for memory retention and analyzing existing data. Once something goes outside of known case law, there’s a lot of nervousness and fear. They prefer known order. It’s not a bad thing though, as being practical is the much easier path to financial success. Many innovative people have great ideas and little follow through. I can respect these fine gentleman’s superiority over me in this regard, and I mean them no disrespect. Do you think I can remember what Jacobs v Thomas circa 1937 refers to? Absolutely not.
  11. The better team might lose to the worse team The shittier hitter may hit better than the star hitter These things are noise. All the sudden you want to listen to noise
  12. Bo ranked #15 and would probably classify the same way, but he also did his job.
  13. Semantics. Marte ranked 14th in the NL in OPS. Carroll 9, Walker 16. There’s 15 teams. What’s a star bat, idk
  14. .844 is a big bat. .900 is more star territory. There’s only so many stars to go around.
  15. I cashed in on buying Marte on the cheap, so I don’t share your opinion there. Why would you quote anything other than OPS? If someone has an .830 OPS and 33hr, why would i care how that stacks up against to the other 1b in the league in this situation?
  16. Again, this is just such a stupid comeback like “I know you are but what am I” or something… like you can have Mike Trout and there no guarantee he hits. You’re simply doing things you can to improve your odds. Having big bats is one of those things.
  17. Moreno kind of admittedly doesn’t belong in there, but he’s a hot topic here, so it’s relevant. Jays don’t have anything comparable to him though. Big time rookie that turned it on 2nd half, so can’t say wasn’t fluke
  18. How is it cherry picked. Those are all of their star bats. I’m saying you need star bats in the Post-season You guys are basically quoting wRC+ for the Jays, 7th in baseball, like it doesn’t matter they don’t have any star bats
  19. I wouldn’t label him that, but I think Top 5 Dynasty 2b is in play. Shallow field I guess, but still
  20. Ops after LAD series Carroll- 1.389 Marte- .984 Walker 1.023 Moreno- 1.107 Thomas notable at .812 but .211 average. Perdomo .167/.792
  21. They were carried to the LCS by their horses. Anything can happen in a single series of course. Philly is still winning
  22. That is a separate issue. I would not have guessed Vlad and him would be that bad coming into the season. By the time the playoffs came around, it was clear what not to expect
  23. You put all your time into trying to tune out randomness researching regular season stats… Then come the playoffs… you throw up your hands and say “randomness”, what can you do It’s beyond stupid but I can’t tell you how to live your life.
  24. Jays were an unbalanced team. Put too much stock in OF Corner defense that you guys jerked off over all year. Then it’s a fluke when they can’t score in 2 playoff games
