    One time this board had a fantasy league everyone took very seriously, smartest of smartest dudes. It’s still around but much less prestigious. They got so pissed when I won the league they stuck an asterisk once I left the league when I was bored with it

    Verdugo was #35 Pipeline, so about the same as RT. There were some good players right behind him in the rankings: Riley, Alvarez, and Robert

    I was curious what Betts made, which was $20m+ so that would count as expensive.. which was weird why that wouldn’t be the comp… But besides that point, I was seeing his salary.. he gets paid over 11 years after his deal for 10+ million each year, so I’m sure it’s the same for a lot of them. I know in looking at the Padres, it seemed that way too. So you have to consider that strategy when analyzing the big deals. By the time 2034 comes around, the cap will be at least $10m higher and $10m will be a lesser amount in current dollars

    Looks like a big drop from last year, which would suggest the teams. But I think the problem is “the team”, as in singular. They do have uniforms that make you not want to watch them

    Texas is like the NYY market for High School and College football. NFL too (as evidenced by Dallas being most valuable franchise is sports I think). In baseball, it’s just a mid-market. Definitely lacks the mass appeal of the other two

    Anytime LTBF wanted to make some kind of defense of Vlad, it was time to line up to tar-and-feather him. Now that there’s shots fired at me, all the people marching to the Ivory Tower want to tar-and-feather me too. Taking the position they mocked LTBF for lol.

    I lost faith in Vlad along the way this season. Hoping we see a new man in 2024. I was actually much less vocal about this than many of you. The only person I know of that thought Vlad was still a big bat was LTBF. He was relentlessly mocked across the season by many of the people now throwing numbers at me about how good Vlad really is. So I don’t know what to tell you. I’m always a pretty self-aware guy, which is a lacking quality here

    Really if there was no me, the established narrative here would’ve been what a disappointment the Jays bats were, and what a stud Carroll and Marte are…but rather than give me an inch, these people would rather cut off their own nose to spite their face. It’s all good, boys
